Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 319

Helene had lost a lot of blood, but thanks to getting her to the hospital in time, her life wasn’t in danger.

Bill and Courtney burst into the hospital, barely holding it together. The second Courtney saw her daughter lying in that bed, covered in bruises and bandages, she screamed and rushed to Helene’s side. Tears poured down her cheeks as she grabbed Helene’s hand, her voice shaking. “Helene? Helene! Who did this to you? Tell me, who did this?”

Bill was shaking with anger. Helene was his precious little girl, and now someone had hurt her like this. He wanted to tear the person responsible apart.

He spun around and yelled at his men. “I want answers. Now. Find out who did this. I don’t care what it takes. Bring them to me. I’m not letting them get away with this.”

He was dead set on making whoever did this pay, a hundred times over.

Julian stopped just outside the door, listening to the chaos inside. His eyes went cold. Their daughter wasn’t even in critical condition, and they were already talking about revenge. He wondered how much pain Madeline must have felt when Noah was fighting for his life. People never truly understand pain until it’s their own.

Miles noticed Julian had stopped and quietly spoke up. “Boss?”

Julian’s voice was calm. “Did you deal with the assassins?”

“Not yet.”

“Make them talk. Find out who sent them.”

Miles understood immediately. Julian wanted to keep digging, no matter what.

But he hesitated. “Boss, Mr. Grayson is probably going to try to bury this.” Christian had already gotten involved, first helping secretly, then sending Gabby to take the blame. It was obvious he was covering for the real culprit and didn’t want anyone looking any further.

Julian’s answer was ice-cold. “I don’t care. Find out who it was. No matter what.”

His tone made it clear he wouldn’t listen to any arguments. He needed proof. Madeline, who went off the rails, needed proof.

He finished giving instructions and walked into the room.

Courtney and Bill both turned when he walked in, still radiating anger and worry. Courtney got up right away and went to Julian, her voice thick with emotion. “Julian, you have to tell me. Who did this to Helene?”

Julian glanced at Helene, his eyes unreadable. His answer was flat. “I don’t know.”

Helene nodded frantically. “Yes! She wants to kill me! Mom, Dad, you have to stop her! I don’t want to die, please, save me…”

She was shaking, clutching the blanket in a death grip, clearly terrified and desperate.

Bill clenched his fists so hard his knuckles cracked. “Madeline won’t touch you again. I swear, I’m sending people to take her down right now.”

He turned to storm out, but Julian moved in front of him, blocking the way.

Bill’s glare turned murderous. “After what that woman did to Helene, you’re still going to stand up for her?”

Julian’s eyes were like ice, his voice flat and cold. “We don’t know what really happened yet.”

Bill exploded. “We don’t know? Julian, Helene just said it was Madeline. Isn’t that enough? What are you waiting for?”

Julian didn’t flinch. “Noah’s in the ICU right now. Madeline says your daughter did it. Should I just take her word for it, go after Helene, and call it justice for my son?”
