Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 329

“Our apologies, Mr. Fortner, but Mr. Grayson told us to guard this room. No one gets in.”

“Go tell Julian I’m here. Tell him I said it. If he’s got a problem, he can come find me himself. I promise, nothing will happen to you two.”

One of the bodyguards looked a little helpless. “Mr. Fortner, didn’t you wait until Mr. Grayson left before showing up? If he gets mad, you won’t be able to protect yourself, let alone us.”

He showed up just after Julian had left. It was obvious he was afraid of Julian. The bodyguards weren’t stupid. They weren’t about to fall for empty promises.

Bill’s frustration grew when he saw how stubborn they were. His glare darkened. “So, are you moving or not? If you don’t, we will just get physical.”

“Go ahead and try. You’re not getting through this door today,” the bodyguard replied, his voice hard and steady.

Bill’s anger boiled over. A vein stood out on his forehead. He repeated “fine” over and over, then waved his hand. “Get these idiots out of my way.”

The tension snapped. Both sides looked ready to fight.

Inside the hospital room, Madeline heard the commotion and stepped out. Her cold eyes swept over Courtney and Bill.

The moment Courtney saw Madeline, her hatred exploded. “You bitch! How dare you hurt my daughter!”

She raised her hand to strike, but a bodyguard stepped in and blocked her. He didn’t do much, since she was Mrs. Fortner, so he just pushed her back.

There was a sharp crack. Courtney’s words died on her lips as the finger she’d been pointing with broke. A second later, a piercing scream tore from her throat.

Madeline was fragile and exhausted, but those words had been the last straw. Her eyes were full of rage. “Your daughter slept with my husband and framed me. Five years later, she set up my son and landed him in the ICU. And you are calling me a homewrecker? You think she’s innocent? I will not allow you to curse my son?”

Courtney’s face went ghost-white. Her scream was so sharp, it sent shivers through everyone in the hallway. All eyes were on Madeline, whose expression was so cold it was almost frightening. Fear flickered in every gaze.

Courtney could only scream and twist, her body following the pull of Madeline’s grip on her broken finger.

“Madeline!” Bill shouted, his voice thundering through the chaos. “Why are you all just standing there? Get her!”
