Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 369

After lunch with Noah at the hospital, Madeline headed out, ready to go home. She barely made it out of the building before Drew and Kate appeared in her path.

Kate rushed over, and right there in front of everyone, dropped to her knees. “Madeline, please, just let your sister go. She’s sorry, okay? You don’t have to be so cold. She’s your sister, for God’s sake.” Kate’s crying was so loud, people were already starting to stare.

“Madeline, I know you don’t like her. How about this? You let her go, and I’ll take her away from the Monroe house. We’ll leave, you won’t have to see us again. Isn’t that enough?”

“Move.”

“No, Madeline, you—”

Madeline just gave her a blank look, then brushed off Kate’s hand. Kate let her body slump to the side, making herself look as pitiful as possible.

Drew, who was always annoyed with Madeline anyway, couldn’t take it anymore. “Madeline, we’re family. Do you really have to be this heartless?”

Madeline gave them a look, pulled out her phone, and started calling the police. She wasn’t about to waste any more breath on them.

“What do you think you’re doing? Madeline!” Drew lunged forward, knocking the phone right out of her hand.

Madeline stared at her phone on the ground and let out a cold little laugh. “Did you really not learn your lesson the last time?”

Drew jabbed a finger at her. “Madeline, I’m telling you, don’t go too far. We’re family. If you act like this, don’t expect us to be there for you when you get in trouble.”

That actually made Madeline laugh out loud.

She honestly couldn’t believe people could be this shameless.

She wondered, for a moment, what her mom had ever seen in Drew.

“Oh, if I ever get in trouble, you two would be celebrating, maybe even finishing me off for good. Support? What support are you talking about?”

Madeline shook her head. “Oh, you really don’t know, do you? Helene did the whole thing. Your daughter took all the blame, and now she’s about to go to jail. Meanwhile, you’re here thanking Helene. Isn’t that just pathetic?”

“No… wait… are you serious?”

Kate’s face went pale.

“Why would I lie to you? Think about it. Who actually gained from everything that happened? Or better yet, look at everything your daughter’s done, and ask yourself, who came out on top, and who got hurt?”

The answer was obvious. Helene won. Raine lost.

Madeline could see her words finally sinking in. Kate’s eyes turned sharp, full of anger. “You’re right. It’s always Helene.”

Any time Raine did anything for Helene, Helene got what she wanted, and Raine was left to pick up the pieces.
