Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 425

The only thing that really mattered to them was seeing their mom. Nothing else could make them happy.

“Hop in,” Brenda said as she opened the back door and gestured to the boys.

But the moment they glanced inside, both boys froze. Their big eyes went wide, staring at the woman in the car as if they couldn’t believe she was real. For a second, it was like time stopped.

Madeline saw them standing there, staring at her, and her eyes filled with tears. She didn’t even hesitate. She climbed out, hurried over, and pulled them both into a tight hug.

“My babies, Mommy’s home.”

The boys stayed stiff for a heartbeat. Then Madeline’s voice and the warmth of her arms seemed to break the spell. They finally realized it was really her… not a dream.

Their eyes filled with tears, and then the crying started. Big, heavy tears, rolling down their cheeks.

“Mommy?” Oliver’s voice was small and hopeful.

“I’m here,” Madeline whispered, her voice shaky as she hugged them even tighter. “I’m so sorry, Noah, Oliver. I made you wait so long. But Mommy’s back now.”

It finally sank in. Their mom was really here. Not just in their dreams.

“Mommy… Mommy…”

Both boys clung to her and just sobbed, letting all their fears and worries pour out.

They’d been told she was never coming back. They’d tried to believe it, but deep down, it hurt more than anything.

But everyone had been wrong. She came back. She was really here.

Brenda watched, her own eyes misty.

Madeline gently let go of Noah and Oliver, wiping their tears away. “Don’t cry, sweethearts. I promise, I’m not leaving you again. I’m so, so sorry for making you worry for so long.”

“We knew they were lying,” Oliver said, his words muffled as he pressed his face against Madeline. “You would never leave us. Mommy, can we stay together from now on, please?”

Madeline’s heart twisted with guilt and love. She stroked their hair and promised, “We’ll always be together now. I mean it.”

Brenda’s gentle voice broke in. “Madeline, let’s get the kids in the car.”

“Okay.” Madeline helped the boys into the back seat.

Normally, they always took Madeline’s side and didn’t want anything to do with Julian. But after these two months, seeing their dad like this, they couldn’t help but worry about him.

Madeline hesitated, thinking it over. “Where is he now?”

Seeing that she was considering it, Oliver quickly offered, “We can call and find out. Dad didn’t come home last night.”

Noah pulled out his phone and tried to call Julian, but his phone was off. So Noah called Miles, and a minute later, he found out that Julian was at a club, alone in a private room.

“Dad’s out drinking.”

Madeline glanced at her sons. The way they looked at her, so hopeful and worried, made her realize just how much things had changed. Even they seemed to see Julian differently now.

“Madeline, do you want to go?” Brenda asked quietly from the front seat.

Before Madeline could answer, both boys squeezed her hands tighter, their pleading eyes impossible to resist.

“Okay. Let’s go.”

At the club, Brenda stayed in the car with Noah and Oliver while Madeline walked inside by herself.
