Two Reborn, One Throne novel Chapter 196

After taking Xanthe back to their apartment, Amber went straight to the library.

Vance was surprisingly well-behaved. No complaining, no fussing. Seeing her arrive, he immediately began reciting his notes, claiming he had memorized everything.

Amber tested him, changing the format of the questions. Vance didn't even flinch, knowing this was just Amber putting him to the test, and confidently picked up his pen to solve them.

Amber had her own work to do.

Although the Exam hadn't officially started, the pursuit of wealth never took a break.

In her past life, around this time, Amber had taken note of a specific project. Although it didn't launch successfully later on, Amber knew the reasons were lack of funding and incomplete property rights.

She wanted to prepare it in advance so that when the results were out and Sharif Madison sent her abroad, she could hand it over to him.

Amber had seen this project during her three years as Sharif's secretary. He had never made a move on it, but Amber knew it had become a nagging regret for him. If she could help him bring this project to life, it would serve as both a perfect delivery on her end and a win-win for everyone.

She left Vance to his questions and went to find some books. Vance didn't know what she was looking for, but he wasn't about to ask.

Amber walked over to the economics and management section and started scanning the shelves. On the middle of the fourth shelf, she spotted a book related to the project she wanted to research, but it was just out of reach.

If only she were wearing heels—but even then, she'd still be a bit short. Just as she stood on her tiptoes, straining to pull the book out, a faint, familiar floral scent drifted over her shoulder. The book she was reaching for was effortlessly plucked out by a highly attractive hand.

Amber froze. Because of her height and the fact that she was fully on her tiptoes, the slightest misstep meant she'd either crush the person's foot behind her or cause the person helping her to drop the book right on her face.

The man's aura was slightly cold. Even though she knew this wasn't his true nature, she instinctively maintained her distance whenever she saw him.

He was still wearing a polka-dot tie, looking refined and noble. His eyes, dark as a deep pool, rippled with an indecipherable emotion.

"Looking into tech that integrates AI into medical and food industries?"

The man didn't look down; his gaze remained fixed on the book Amber had been trying to grab.

Amber's head was tilted back. From her angle, she had a perfect view of his flawless jawline.

He finally lowered his eyes. If Amber didn't already know he had absolutely zero interest in romance, she would have easily been swept off her feet.

His ink-black eyes looked like a pool of spring water, especially when they locked onto hers.

Amber's lips curved slightly as he took a step back, allowing her to slowly lower her heels. "Are you interested too, Mr. Madison?"

Sharif shot her a glance, his thoughts unreadable, and pulled out a few more books for her. "Good eye. How did you spot the business opportunity?"
