In the end, Nathan gave Davisa and her son an apartment and five million in cash, which could be considered fulfilling his responsibility as a father. Even if Deanna reviewed the asser division, she wouldn’t be able to find any fault with it.
“Thank you. I’ll go see her tomorrow and finalize the divorce procedures. I’m getting old. From now on, the company will have to follow your lead, Sebastian.” Nathan had clearly made up his mind to retire.
“Nathan, you should focus on recovering first. Let Trevor gain a few more years of experience abroad. When he’s more mature, he can return and get involved in the company’s business.”
After all, it was better to bring him back after his own child could speak.
Sebastian calculated all this quietly.
“Alright!” Nathan’s eyes reddened with emotion. “He used to be immature, but he’s finally grown up a bit. You’ll have to take care of him more in the future, Sebastian.”
Sebastian smiled lightly and replied, “We are a family, Nathan.”
Bryce, who had been listening all along, had no objections either. If Trevor could find a wife, the family would finally be complete, he thought.
At last, things were peaceful at home.
At the law firm, when Lily heard that Serena was pregnant with twins, she simply gave a thumbs-up and said, “Mr. Levine is amazing.”
Serena was speechless at her words. After all, why was Sebastian getting praised when she was the one going through all the hardship of pregnancy?
Perhaps because of Sebastian-or perhaps because Adam had a sudden bout of conscience— he specifically called Serena into his office early that morning.
“Ms. Steele, we originally planned to assign you an assistant after your promotion. Now that you’re pregnant, it’s perfect timing. An intern joined the firm yesterday. Why don’t I assign him to you as your assistant?”
“Sure.” Serena smiled.
She was happy to accept since having someone share her workload would make things easier. Although her current responsibilities had already been reduced, she didn’t know what her

condition would be like in the later stages of pregnancy. Hence, training a newcomer early would help lighten her burden later, which was why she agreed with Adam’s decision.
“Alright, Mr. Rowe. Thank you.”
“No problem.” Adam chuckled. “I’ll have him come find you shortly.”
Serena had just stepped out of the office when she saw the new intern, Gavin Pierce.
“Hello, Ms. Steele. Mr. Rowe said I’ll be your assistant from now on.”
Gavin was fair-skinned and had a humble attitude. When Lily saw him, her eyes immediately lit up.
Serena smiled faintly and said, “Alright. Your desk is over there. You can get a computer HR. Go get settled first.”

As soon as he left, Lily nudged Serena with her elbow.
“Not bad, Serena! They’ve assigned you a proper college boy! He looks slim, but I bet he’s definitely got muscles if he takes his shirt off!”
Serena pinched Lily. “Snap out of it. If you keep this up, you’ll scare the new guy. Be careful, or he might accuse you of workplace harassment!”
Lily was just joking around while no one else was listening.
“I’m just saying.”
Once Gavin returned, Lily behaved herself and kept quiet.
To be honest, since it was Adam who personally assigned him, Serena initially suspected Gavin might be a nepotism hire. However, that impression completely disappeared within half a day.
“Ms. Steele, I’ve organized this batch of documents. Also, the remaining details for Logzkin Company’s due diligence have all been compiled.”
Looking at the neatly arranged files on her desk, Serena felt quite satisfied.
“Thank you, Gavin. Good work.” Then, she glanced at her watch and said, “It’s already 5:30. You can get out of work.”
