Sebastian gently patted her head. “Were you and Richie arguing again?”

“Daddy, Richie is so stingy. No one will marry him like that.”

At her age, she didn’t understand marriage, though she often heard her father call her mother “honey.”

Richie gave a small huff, puffing his cheeks before turning away.

Serena summarized it plainly. “Sunny grabbed Richie’s toy, and he won’t share it.”

Sebastian settled himself between the two children. “Alright, here’s a deal–Sunny, pick one of your favorite toys and swap with Richie.”

They hesitated for a moment but eventually relented.

The two of them walked upstairs together, close and quiet.

Richie glanced around. “Where’s Mommy?”

Sunny huffed. “Daddy took her away. He’s so clingy.”

They had complained about this many times before.
