Chapter 474 Complaint
“Come on, you didn’t ruin the game we left last time, did you?” Henry asked.
Elijah chuckled and explained that the board had been cleaned and put away. “But I remember our game. I’ll set it up for you.” Henry had been a little disappointed, but hearing him say that, he couldn’t help thinking the man had a knack for handling things. They played and chatted at the same time. “Elijah, you planning to stay around here for a while? Not heading home?”
Elijah didn’t bother hiding his plan. “For the next couple of years, yeah, until I get my girlfriend back. Then, I’ll head home.”
Henry went speechless for a moment. His ex–girlfriend seems to be Winona.
“Elijah, you really gotta look forward. What’s in the past isn’t always what’s best for you,” he said.
Elijah ignored the advice. “Old Mr. Campbell, I think Winona and I are a good match.”
Henry snorted. “If you were a good match, you wouldn’t have treated her badly back then.”
“I didn’t treat her badly. Old Mr. Campbell, when I went to Winona’s shop the other day, Elena looked kinda mean. She didn’t even pay for the clothes she picked. Now that’s being mean, right?”
Henry’s ears perked up. “When did this happen?”
Elijah smiled lightly. “Just a couple days ago. Didn’t Winona tell you?”
Henry suddenly lost all interest in the game.
After Elijah dropped him off, he headed upstairs. A staff member asked, “Mr. Payne, should I put the board away?”
“No need. I’m too lazy. We’ll just set it up next time.”
Henry had just gotten home when he saw Elena sparkling from head to toe.
She saw him as she walked in, and her smile faded a bit. “Henry, you’re out today, too?”
“Hmph.” He huffed. “What, you get to go out every day, but I can’t?
“Elena, sometimes you gotta lead by example. You’ve always been so careless, and your two sons are the same. They even stirred up a scandal with that young celebrity!
“I don’t even want to talk about them.”
Elena’s two sons were total playboys, nothing like Austin. Everything that was the opposite of Austin’s good qualities, her sons had in spades.
She frowned at his words. “Henry, they don’t even have any important positions in the company. Of course, all they can do is mess around when they’re free.”

“Nonsense! Elena, are you mad at the positions my oldest son, Josh, set up for them? With their playful, flighty personalities, how could they handle anything serious, huh?
“And Winona isn’t even in the company, so why do I never see her just wandering around doing nothing?
“Besides, you’re a senior in the family. Orin has probably shorted you money, buying clothes at Winona’s store on credit, right?”
Her cheeks turned red with anger. “Henry, don’t go believing anything Winona tells you!”
