Amara said, surprised, "What's there to be angry about? I'm happy for you that someone's pursuing you. It's a testament to your charm."
"..."
Keith was so infuriated by her words he could barely see straight.
He said resentfully, "Amara, you're a real disappointment!"
He couldn't bring himself to yell at Amara, he would never do that, but he couldn't speak loudly either, not with so many people still working nearby.
He clenched his fists, staring resentfully at Amara, and after a long moment, that was all he could manage to say.
Seeing Keith so flustered and unable to vent his anger, Amara found it hilarious and burst into laughter, clutching her stomach.
Her reaction only made Keith angrier. He couldn't resist gently tweaking her ear. "Can you stop laughing? It's driving me crazy to see you like this."
"What's driving you crazy?" Amara gave him a push. "I'm finally having a good laugh, and that bothers you?"
"Hah, so you only get happy when you see other women chasing me, is that it?" Keith was fuming. "You really don't take me seriously at all, do you?"
Amara had tears in her eyes from laughing so hard. She wiped them and rolled her eyes at Keith. "When have I ever not taken you seriously? Don't you dare try to pin that on me."
Bantering with Keith like this, Amara suddenly felt a sense of ease.
After Keith confessed his feelings to her, things had felt awkward, and she worried she might lose him as a friend.
But as they continued to spend time together, she realized her relationship with Keith hadn't changed at all.
"Amara, do you have a minute?" Nora's voice was panicked as soon as the call connected. "I'm at Elysia's place right now. Dorian and Lucian just got into a fight. Amara, can you come over?"
Nora had become Elysia's assistant, so the Elysia she mentioned was, of course, Elysia.
Amara was shocked. Dorian and Lucian got into a fight?
She quickly replied, "Okay, I'm on my way."
Amara glanced at her watch. It was almost ten o'clock. She never expected something like this to happen so late at night. She hastily changed into some clothes and drove to Elysia's apartment.
"Amara, you're here."
Nora was waiting for her downstairs, wearing a long down jacket. Amara strode over to her and asked, "How are things now? Was the fight bad?"
