Under the Veil I Rule (Amara) novel Chapter 903

It wasn't just the dilemma of the baby. Amara's parting words from the day before had struck a deep nerve.

He had always hated Lucian Hale, consumed by jealousy over Elysia's affection for the younger man. But he had never stopped to wonder why Elysia actually liked him.

He assumed it was just because Lucian was handsome. But Amara pointed out that Elysia liked Lucian because he respected her and was genuinely kind to her.

Did that mean he needed to change? Did he need to become a genuine, respectful man to finally win his wife back?

He spent the entire day agonizing over these questions, barely getting any work done.

By evening, he left his office and headed back to Finnian's apartment, where he had been crashing lately.

A few minutes after he arrived, Finnian walked through the door. Dorian asked casually, "Just getting back? Were you in meetings?"

"Yeah, back-to-back all day. I'm exhausted."

Finnian nodded, swapping his shoes before heading to the bathroom to wash up.

Dorian sat on the couch, cracking open a beer. "How are things with you and Amara lately?"

He kept his tone light, as if the thought had just casually crossed his mind.

The sound of running water echoed from the bathroom.

When the water stopped, Finnian's voice drifted out. "Same as usual. I'm trying to give her space, but when I miss her too much, I go see her. Either way, I'm never giving up on her."

His tone was rock-solid, a testament to his unwavering determination.
