Standing outside his office, Amara initially considered knocking. But then she remembered how vile Finnian was acting. Why on earth did he deserve her courtesy? She was practically vibrating with rage.
So, ignoring protocol, she shoved the door open with a loud bang, marching inside under the receptionist's shocked gaze.
She slammed the door shut behind her, the heavy thud echoing through the space.
"Finnian, what is the meaning of this?"
Noticing he was alone in the room, she stormed right up to his desk and demanded, "Did you ban the hospital from performing my procedure? How can you be so shameless?"
Her anger swelled with every word, her voice rising uncontrollably.
She had a sickening feeling that he hadn't just blocked that specific hospital. He had probably ordered every clinic in Wye to turn her away.
That meant if she wanted to go through with the abortion, she had absolutely zero legitimate options left. Her only choice would be risking her life at some illegal underground clinic.
Finnian stood up, his gaze turning icy as he stared her down. "Do you really have to terminate this pregnancy? Amara, this is our child. How can you be so heartless?"
Heartless? The sheer audacity of the accusation almost made her laugh.
She balled her hands into fists and glared up at him. "Don't try to guilt-trip me, Finnian."
"My body belongs to me. If I want to have a baby, I'll have one. If I don't, nobody can force me. I have every right to get this procedure, and you have no right to stop me!"
She enunciated every word, her eyes locking onto his with fearless, blazing fury and profound hatred.
Finnian's features tightened as he asked, "Are you dead set on this? Do you really have no attachment to this baby at all?"
