Unemployed Family? Hidden Tycoons Dote On Her novel Chapter 673

A bit worried, he tried calling Lucas, but Lucas simply hung up on him.

"Can you believe he actually hung up on me?" Hank muttered, annoyed. He quickly sent a voice message. "Look, I don't care what you're doing out there, but if you screw things up for me, you can just come right back home and take over the family business. Quit bothering me here."

He noticed Lucas still hadn't replied. Hank was seriously irritated, but he decided to drop it for now.

Arabella turned to Matthew. "How's your arm feeling?"

"Not too bad," Matthew answered.

"Maybe we should head out. It looks like this event's going to run through the whole morning," Arabella suggested.

Matthew glanced at her and gave a nod. "Alright."

With a light smile, Arabella waved casually. "Well then, I won't see you off, Mr. Stewart."

"Aren't you leaving too?" Matthew's expression shifted slightly, his tone tinged with annoyance.

Was she trying to brush him off?

"Oh—" Arabella was caught by surprise. "I don't have to leave right now. I'm fine sticking around."

Since she was already here, she figured she might as well stay until everything wrapped up.

Her situation was different from his—he could take off early if he wanted, but she didn't feel the need to.

Before she could say another word, Matthew took her hand firmly. "We're leaving together."

"Wait, hold on—" But Matthew was already guiding her out of the venue, not giving her a chance to object.

Once they reached the parking lot, Arabella sighed softly. "Mr. Stewart, we're not headed the same way. There's really no point in us leaving together."

Matthew gave her a sidelong look. "We can make it the same direction."

"Make it the same direction?" What the heck did that mean?

"Get in," Matthew said as he opened Arabella's car door.

Arabella watched in disbelief as Matthew got into her car. Her mouth dropped open a little.

"Why aren't you getting in?" Matthew asked, looking at her.

Her mouth twitched a bit. "Oh, right," Arabella said.

She got in, started the car, shot Matthew an annoyed look, and asked, "Where to?"

"Let's go check out the pharmaceutical factory," Matthew said.

Arabella pouted and agreed. "Fine."

Soon, Arabella drove to the pharmaceutical factory.

"Do you have some work to do here, Mr. Stewart?" Arabella asked.

"No," Matthew said. "Just taking a look around."

Arabella didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "There's not much to see here."

Even if they were just looking around, there wasn't much to look at.

Matthew glanced at her. "Then let's go to the botanical garden."

It really was the only place that suited him, and since Aaron stayed for Arabella, he was also a big help to her.

"Ah, it's been a while since I last came to check out my botanical garden." Arabella put on a cloth apron and walked into the garden.

Seeing that every single plant was well-taken-care of, Arabella smiled. "Looks like you come to my garden a lot."

Even now that she was there, she didn't feel like there was anything that needed to be done.

"You can tell these plants have been well-looked-after," Matthew said casually.

Arabella was surprised. "You know about this?"

Matthew looked away and replied, "I've read up on it."

"Why would you learn about plants?" Arabella asked, looking curious. "Even if Horizon Corp wanted to get into the pharmaceutical business, you wouldn't need to grow the plants yourself, would you?"

"I really don't," Matthew agreed with her.

He didn't explain that he learned all this just so he could understand her better.

Arabella raised an eyebrow. "Then why do it?"

"Just looking around," Matthew still didn't explain.

And he wasn't looking her in the eyes either, almost like he was deliberately avoiding her gaze.

Sensing that something was off with him, Arabella blinked and wisely didn't push it further.

She could tell he wasn't acting like himself, but it was pretty obvious he didn't want to talk about it.
