"I'll go with you," he said, having clearly overheard the phone call.
"That's really not necessary," Arabella tried to refuse.
Matthew insisted, "They sounded urgent. Let's just head over now."
Seeing he wasn't going to back down, Arabella didn't argue further, and they made their way to Cloudy Design.
At Cloudy Design, almost the entire Hamilton family had already gathered by the time Arabella and Matthew arrived.
"Mom, Frank, Ethan, Alfred," Arabella greeted them, then asked, "What's going on?"
The situation looked serious—otherwise, they wouldn't all be here.
"Oh, honey," Florence sighed. "Naomi's company is about to go under."
Arabella raised an eyebrow. "Then let it go under. If she's still interested, the family can always help her start another one."
Losing one company wasn't the end of the world, especially for a family like the Hamiltons.
"No, I can't shut it down!" Naomi's eyes were red from crying, and her voice trembled pitifully.
Arabella frowned. "If you don't want to close it, then keep running it and turn things around."
"Arabella, it's not that simple," Ethan explained. "She got scammed."
"Scammed?" Arabella was taken aback. So that was it.
"Here's what happened," Frank stepped in. "She entered a partnership with an international firm. They promised to invest in her company as part of the deal, but once the contract was signed and the money came through, they moved to take full control. It's not a partnership anymore—they're essentially buying out Cloudy Design."
"What would they want with Cloudy Design?" Arabella didn't understand. And why use such underhanded tactics?
"We're not sure yet. I've already got people looking into it," Frank said.
"I've also asked my contacts to dig into that company's background. Hopefully, we'll get some answers soon," Alfred added.
Arabella began to grasp the situation. She turned to Florence. "So, Mom, you asked me to come because..."
It didn't seem like there was much she could do—her brothers were already on top of it.
Florence took Arabella's hand. "I just thought since this is a family matter, everyone who's available should come together and brainstorm solutions."
Arabella understood her mother's intention and nodded. "I'll help however I can."
She knew Florence still hoped she and Naomi could get along. Not wanting to worry her mother, Arabella agreed without hesitation.
A look of relief washed over Florence's face. Her daughter was so considerate.
