But he couldn't go over to her place right now.

Julian swallowed hard and decisively sent Vivian a video call request.

Vivian answered instantly.

With her caretaker's help, she had just finished bathing. She was lying in bed in a silk slip dress, holding her phone as she texted Julian.

The moment she saw the video request, she tapped accept almost by reflex. As a result, she didn't have time to adjust her phone, and the camera pointed squarely at her chest.

"Ah, give me a second."

Vivian fumbled with her phone, using her other hand to prop herself up in bed.

The camera lens followed her movement, shifting from her chest up to her neck, then to her chin.

It bobbed around for a moment before finally stabilizing, focusing on her face.

"Sorry, sorry."

Their eyes locked through the screen. Having just been flustered, Vivian's face was flushed with the kind of rosy hue that follows intense physical activity. Under the cool lighting, she looked exceptionally enticing and delicious.

Julian's Adam's apple bobbed. His eyes were glued to her lips, his breathing growing heavy and erratic as her soft, dewy lips parted and closed.

After dating for a few months, Vivian already knew Julian's preferences well. She knew exactly what it was about her that attracted him, and she naturally noticed the scorching gaze he aimed right through the screen, looking as if he wanted to burn a hole straight through her.

Vivian felt a tingling numbness wash over her beneath his stare. She instinctively licked her lips before speaking, her voice raspy, laced with a sticky, coquettish softness that almost sounded like a moan. "D-don't look at me like that. I won't be able to control myself."

It was like tossing a spark onto dry kindling. The air on both sides of the screen practically crackled and ignited.

Their lingering gazes tangled together like spun sugar, fanning the flames of desire. Julian wished he could reach through the screen and devour her whole.

Julian fought back a bead of hot sweat and let out a low chuckle. "Then don't control yourself."

The temperature in the study continued to rise.
