Vivian stared at him without blinking, utterly mesmerized.

Only after truly getting to know him did she realize that Julian was infinitely more exceptional and gentle than she had ever imagined.

Now that she had captured his heart, she firmly believed there wasn't a better man alive.

No matter how demanding his schedule got, he always made time for her, catching tiny details about her well-being that even she overlooked.

Just last week at the office, she had developed a slight nasal congestion that she hadn't even registered, but Julian had immediately noticed and ordered her to go home and rest.

Assuming it was just a minor scratchy throat from too many snacks, she had deliberately skipped taking any medication, purely to prolong the luxury of his pampering.

By that night, her condition had predictably worsened into a full-blown fever.

When Julian discovered she hadn't taken her meds, he sighed in affectionate resignation, never once scolding her, but instead staying by her side to nurse her back to health.

The same level of devotion was on display tonight; she was wearing thick pants and socks, making it practically impossible for the falling debris to actually scratch her.

Yet Julian's first instinct had still been to drop to his knees in panic and inspect her legs.

This kind of frantic devotion was something she could never have elicited from him before he fell for her.

Thoroughly intoxicated by his love, she felt a sharp pang of regret that she hadn't made her move sooner.

If she had confessed years ago, she would be the one wearing his ring right now, and she would be the only mother to his children.

"What's on your mind?"

Julian returned from throwing out the trash, leaning down to press a soft kiss to her lips when he saw her spacing out over the back of the sofa.

Snapping back to reality, Vivian gazed up at the handsome face she had coveted for years, smiling as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a deeper kiss.

"Just thinking about you."

When they finally parted, she lingered against his lips, her voice turning husky. "You're so wonderful. If I had just confessed earlier, we wouldn't have wasted all these years."

Julian called out that anything was fine, casually adding, "Mrs. Gable probably came by to tidy up and restocked it for us."

Elara had hired their housekeeper, always making sure to coordinate grocery runs whenever her own schedule was too hectic to manage the loft herself.

With Melody being sick recently, Julian assumed Elara hadn't had the time to deal with the second property, leaving the housekeeper as the only logical explanation.

He had completely forgotten that Elara had dropped by earlier, having entirely ignored her text about running errands.

Thinking nothing of it, Vivian grabbed two bottles of sparkling water. As she closed the fridge and turned around, she spotted a brand-new jar of premium honey sitting on the kitchen island with a sticky note attached.

I noticed we were out of honey, so I picked up a new jar. Have a warm mug in the morning to soothe your stomach, especially if you've been drinking.

Elara had been here. Every single drink in that overstuffed fridge was bought by his wife.

Vivian's expression darkened instantly, her first instinct to angrily shove the sparkling water back onto the shelf.

Just then, Julian strolled out of the bathroom, drying his hands as he headed toward the dining area.
