Andrea collected all the iron arrows first, then patted down the monster’s pockets. Nothing.
So she let the system dismantle it.
[Dismantled Mutant Horn Beast, obtained green treasure chest.]
Inside the chest were a blueprint, a bag of flour about 10 lbs, and a camp token.
[Crossbow Bolt Blueprint: lets you craft bolts of different sizes and specs for different crossbows.]
Andrea was thrilled.
She’d been worried about running out of bolts–even practice shots made her nervous, afraid they’d fly off the island never come back.
Now she could craft plenty for training.
The hundred or so poisoned or tranquilizer bolts she had now could be saved for real fights.
She stashed the blueprint and picked up the camp token.
She turned it over a few times, still having no clue what it did. No hints from the system either, just the item name.
It looked pretty, covered in squiggly patterns.
Thinking it might ward off evil, she decided to stick it by the door as decoration.
She broke down the day’s supply chests and treasure chests: got 2 iron, 15 wood, 10 nails.
She opened the workbench and placed the blueprint.
It showed: 20 bolts require 1 iron, 5 wood, and 1 feather.
She traded for 5 feathers and 1 iron in the market, then crafted 100 regular bolts.
Now she could finally practice without worrying.
Just as she was about to close the screen, she noticed a private message sent hot long ago.
Dominic (Ah! Big shot! I actually got a message from you!
[I wasn’t ignoring you, I swear I ran into a monster and barely got away
[You still there? You know what I
She read through
What a chatterbox Over forty messages, but he inally got to the point
Horn Beasts were different their heads and eyes
Red eyes and grass growing on the head incant aggression

Chapter 13
The more grass, the more violent and mindless.
Andrea thought back. The one she’d killed had a bit of green on its head–just sprouting, not obvious.
She’d thought it was just a blade of grass stuck there.
That made sense. The little boy at the supply station had clear eyes and no grass, so he was normal.
‘So were these monsters sick? Poisoned? The same species as the kid? Probably just game lore, Andrea thought to he
She didn’t dwell on it, asking. [What supplies do you want in exchange?]
Dominic: [It’s okay. Just having someone listen to me ramble makes me happy.
[You don’t know–back in real life, people told me I talk too much. Now there are tens of thousands in the chat chan they can’t all block me, right? LOL…]
Andrea was left speechless, thinking. The guy had actually found his comfort zone in a survival game.
Still, she sent him a gift–a section of cucumber, over a pound.
Dominic: [A! Big shot, you’re so generous. Giving away something so precious just like that!
I’m over here having a heart–to–heart with a monster.
Big, burly guy, wearing a pink bow and tiny shorts. That combo–I’ve gotta talk to him about his fashion sense.]
3ow. Andrea zeroed in on that.
She sent another piece of cucumber and quickly typed: [Coordinates.]
Dominic: [254.857.957]
Andrea immediately adjusted course, full speed toward those coordinates.
Dominic kept messaging: [He got so mad he wanted to jump into the water and beat me up. Good thing I opened a 10 he shield from a chest,
Uh oh, two more blades of grass just sprouted on his head. Gotta run, gotta run; if the whole camp comes after he m done.)
Andrea just replied with a thumbs up emoji.
Great, a precious defensive item used for monster gossip,‘ she said inwardly.
She checked the distance about 63 miles. She wouldn’t get there until tomorrow
She let out a sigh, worned the monster might leave by then, and wished she had some thing to speed her upy
Then, she scrolled the trade market – nothing
Then, she posted in chat 1 gallon of water for any speed boost item, negotiable No Lakers
Just envious comments about how many supplies she had
Even Jason, who camped the market and chatted 24-7 didn’t respond

Chapter 13
Frustrated. Andrea picked up her crossbow to practice, trying to calm down.
On her third shot, the camp token by her door started blinking.
She went over and picked it up.
[A Horn Beast camp detected within 62 miles. Teleport?]
What?! Andrea was stunned.
She mashed confirm.
That coordinate had just entered the 62.mile range. From what Dominic said, he was near a camp too.
This was probably that same camp.
The moment she confirmed, her island seemed to teleport.
In just a couple of breaths, she saw a shallow shoal, much wider than the little islands before.
Looked like she’d have to leave her island this time.
She had no idea how many monsters were in the camp.
Her face grew serious. She started planning. ‘Maybe shout and lure them all out one by one? No, better to stay low and irst.‘
