Wait…Why Did Everyone I Love Suddenly Call Me a Bitch?! novel Chapter 80

Chapter 1

My brother’s girlfriend just got back from abroad, so I told him to bring her over for dinner-figured I should at least meet her.

I was watching TV on the couch when she walked in.

Her eyes did a quick sweep of the room before she made a beeline straight for me:

“Oh, so you’re the girl who grew up with Ethan-the one he’s super close with, practically joined at the hip?”

“I just want to say thank you so much for babysitting him and getting him all trained up for me. We’re doing amazing now!”

She said it all with this sugary smile plastered on her face, eyes raking over me like I was something she’d just scraped off her shoe.

Excuse me, what the actual hell?

What was I supposed to be-some kind of live-in nanny? A placeholder girlfriend?

Our parents died when we were young.

Every meal he ate, every piece of clothing on his back, every cent he spent-I paid for it.

I stared at her in silence. Then she opened her mouth again:

“But now that I’m back, you should probably move out, don’t you think? I mean, we need our space. It’s awkward having you here.”

I actually laughed out loud.

She wanted me to move out.

From my own house.

Who the hell did she think she was?

Before I could even get a word in, Scarlett straight-up played hostess and started herding everyone to the table.

She made a beeline for Ethan, voice dripping with sugar:

“Ethan! Crawfish! You know how much I love crawfish!”

“woo, Scarlett’s serving us relationship goals with dinner!”

His buddies started whooping and hollering.

My brother grinned like an absolute idiot, ear to ear.

Look, her earlier jabs were borderline bitchy, but I wasn’t gonna make a scene.

Some girls just can’t help treating every woman within a five-mile radius like a threat.

At the table, Scarlett was practically glued to Ethan’s side, giggling like some anime character,

Chapter 1

I barely knew these people-honestly just wanted to inhale my food and get back to my Netflix queue.

Then Scarlett suddenly turned her spotlight on me:

“Girl, you’re gorgeous-got a boyfriend?”

She scanned the room first, then shot me this loaded look.

I kept it simple: “Nope.”

Truth was, I’d been single for exactly five days.

That answer lit her up like a Christmas tree.

She let out this little laugh:

“Wait, seriously? I figured you’d be, like, a total player. How are you even single right now?”

“Sam’s single too-why don’t you guys exchange numbers? Get to know each other?”

She gestured toward this dude at the end of the table.

One of her friends-kinda pudgy, wearing glasses that didn’t fit his face, hair looking like he bathed in vegetable oil, outfit screaming “laundry day was three weeks ago.”

The second she said it, his face went tomato red:

“Uh… I mean… would be an hon-”

I cut him off immediately:

“I’m not looking right now.”

“Oh come on!”
