Wait…Why Did Everyone I Love Suddenly Call Me a Bitch?! novel Chapter 75

Chapter 6

The party ends early, obviously.

I apologize to every guest individually, but they actually comfort me instead.

“Mira, sweetheart, none of this was your fault”

“We’re sorry you went through that. At least now we know who she really is”

Carol takes my hands, looking guilty as hell. “‘m so sorry, honey. If I hadn’t invited her, this never would’ve happened. Please don’t blame yourself.”

I shake my head. Weirdly, I feel… relieved?

This nightmare showed me who my real friends are.

Blake stays to help clean up.

He apologizes to my parents again and insists on covering the broken watch and today’s damages.

He talks to the restaurant manager, apologizing for the scene and paying extra for the disruption.

His maturity and responsibility make me see him differently.

Three days later, I meet Brooklyn at a coffee shop.

Some things need a final conversation.

She shows up looking like death-swollen eyes, pale skin, greasy hair.

The second she sees me, she’s already making excuses.

“Mira, please believe me-I didn’t mean it. Love made me lose my mind!”

I look at her calmly.

No anger. No sadness. Just… nothing.

“Love?” I cut off her pity party.

“Calling me at 3 AM and making me spy on your boyfriend-that’s love?”

“Forcing me to swear on my life because you don’t trust me-that’s love?”

“Moving into my apartment, searching my phone, stalking my shopping history-that’s love?”

“Spreading rumors about me online and turning our friends against me-that’s love?”

“Ruining my father’s 60th birthday, destroying his gift in front of our entire family-that’s also love?”

Each question makes her face go whiter.

I keep going, listing every single thing she put me through.

Wait… Why Did Everyone I Love Suddenly Call Me a Bitch?!

By the time I’m done, she’s crying and can’t even speak.

I look at her and say my final words: “Brooklyn, this isn’t love. This is pure selfishness and sick obsession.”

“Our friendship ends today. We’re done.”

I stand up to leave.

She suddenly grabs my hand, desperate.

“Please don’t leave me! I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! Forgive me, please?”

“Blake already dumped me, and if you abandon me too, I’ll have nothing! We’ve been friends for years!”

She’s sobbing pathetically, making a scene in the coffee shop.

I feel… sad. Not for her, but for us.

I gently pull my

hand away.

“Nobody abandoned you.”

“You destroyed everything YOURSELF.”

Then I walk away without looking back.

Outside, the afternoon sun feels warm on my face.

Blake’s waiting by his car with two coffee cups.

He doesn’t ask how it went. Just hands me an iced latte-my favorite.
