The family–friendly restaurant they were going to tonight had a

nice atmosphere, perfect for taking pictures, so Madeleine had

specifically changed into a blue dress she loved.

It was a hazy–blue velvet dress with perfectly pleated hems,

glowing softly in the sunset.

The slim fit outlined her slender waist, and the V–neck perfectly

revealed her delicate collarbones, making her skin look as white

as snow.

When she got out of the car and just stood by the kindergarten

gate, she quickly became the center of attention.

It was just a few minutes before the kids were let out, and

many adults were waiting at the gate.

A few of the men, in particular, were openly staring at her with

appreciative and probing looks.

Madeleine didn’t look up. Her phone buzzed in her bag, so she

took it out to look.

It was from Roderick’s secretary, Teresa.

with Roderick at work, she quickly typed back to ask what

happened.

Teresa: [The boss didn’t come to the office this morning, and he
