Chapter 254
They both fell silent. The room was so quiet you could hear a
pin drop.
“Two minutes left.”
Adrian reminded her with a smile.
Rebecca’s eyes widened. He actually remembered what he’d said. Wasn’t he drunk? How was he not completely out of it?
She pursed her lips and took two steps closer to Adrian.
Hesitating, moving slowly, she wasted another minute.
Only the last minute was left.
“Okay.”
Rebecca said suddenly, out of nowhere.
Adrian’s hands, propped on the bed, twitched and tensed up.
“Okay?
What does ‘okay‘ mean?”
Chapter 254
“I agree.”
The expression on Adrian’s face changed bit by bit, like a
firework blooming in slow motion.
He pushed off with his hands, stood up from the bed, and
walked over to Rebecca.
Under the pressure of his height, Rebecca felt as if the spacious
room had become crowded.
“Agreed to what, Rebecca? Be clear.”
Rebecca’s cheeks were burning. She didn’t dare to look into
Adrian’s eyes, but no matter where she looked, he would force
her to meet his gaze.
There was no escaping it. Rebecca could only grit her teeth. “I
admit, I don’t know how to answer the questions you asked me,
because I do… have some feelings for you.”
The words felt like they were burning her mouth, and Rebecca
struggled to get them out.
“I’m not just physically attracted to you. I was really happy when
you came to take care of me last time, Adrian. I think I might…
like you a little.”
Chapter 254
The clock struck midnight.
Adrian’s lips curved up, and he finally smiled.
His slow and steady approach had finally paid off.
He couldn’t hold back anymore. He wrapped his arm around
Rebecca’s waist and was about to kiss her.
But her hand pressed between them just then.
“Wait, I’m not finished.”
Adrian frowned, his breathing growing a little heavier.
“Can’t we talk after we kiss?”
“This… this has to be said first.”
Rebecca’s face flushed red as she looked up and said, “You
didn’t give me much time to think. I’m not sure if this decision is
just a spur–of–the–moment thing for both of us.”
Adrian pressed his lips together, not saying a word.
Too short?
He thought it was too long.
Chapter 254
If it weren’t Rebecca, he wouldn’t have been this patient.
“So, I hope we can give each other an out.”
“What do you have in mind?”
“A trial period.”
Rebecca proposed the term, then explained, “Let’s give
ourselves a three–month trial period. If any problems come up
during that time, we can both walk away clean, like nothing ever
happened. If nothing changes after three months, then we
can…”
“Make it official?”
A cold smirk appeared on Adrian’s face.
“Yes… and during this time, I hope we can keep it from others,
so we can part on good terms if it doesn’t work out.”
Adrian slowly grew cold.
He let go of her and pulled away from Rebecca.
“Rebecca, what do you take me for?”
“I…”
Chapter 254
Rebecca lowered her head, feeling guilty.
As expected, he rejected it.
Then again, not many people would accept a “female player”
proposal like this.
Rebecca nodded, her voice heavy.
“I get it. Just pretend I never said anything.”
After saying that, she turned to leave.
Of course, Adrian wasn’t going to let her just run off.
He’d waited all day, just to hear a line from a female player.
How could he put up with that?
Without a word, he reached out and pulled her back.
“One month.”
He was holding back his anger, his voice practically squeezed
through gritted teeth.
“I can tolerate being unofficial for one month at most. Any
longer, and you can forget it.”
