Chapter 277
Kevin’s mouth was slightly agape, his little head rapidly
processing what his dad had just said.
Oh!
Dating, he knew that word.
Inappropriate for kids, yep, he knew that one too. His mom had
told him about it.
So that was the reason she didn’t take him.
Kevin’s worried heart settled down, and he couldn’t help but
break into a knowing smile.
Great! I knew it. Mom’s been saying how good I’ve been every
day, so it definitely wasn’t because of me that she didn’t take
me out.
Roderick glanced at the smile on his son’s face, and everything
became clear.
The little guy’s therapy sessions had already been reduced from
twice a week to twice a month, and his improvement was
obvious.
If today’s incident had happened in the past, the little guy would have blamed himself for everything and wouldn’t have been able to eat a single bite.
Of course, his recovery also came with some side effects.
For example, the old Kevin was focused on pleasing everyone, never saying what he wanted to eat and what he didn’t.
But now…
Roderick looked at the pile of food picked out on his plate, his brow furrowed.
“Why aren’t you eating this?”
“I don’t like it.”
Roderick looked at his son’s unapologetic expression, and his frown couldn’t help but tighten.
This kid… he’s really starting to have a mind of his own.
On one hand, he was incredibly relieved by his son’s recovery; the poor little thing who was always so cautious, walking on eggshells around people and blaming himself for everything,

was finally fading away.
On the other hand, the speed and degree to which the little guy
was “letting loose” sometimes gave him, as a father, a
headache.
“So you’re just not going to eat it because you don’t like it?
That’s not acceptable. You need a balanced diet.”
Kevin pouted. “Why do you adults get to eat whatever you
want? It’s not fair.”
Roderick was speechless for a moment.
He was silent for a moment, then said what every adult tells a
child: “You can do it too when you’re a grown–up.”
Kevin’s little face fell.
Why hadn’t he ever thought his dad’s words were so unpleasant
before?
You really couldn’t have comparisons.
Mom’s words were just so much nicer.
Kevin poked at the vegetables he didn’t like for a couple of
Chapter 277
bites, then looked up to see his dad eating while looking at
documents on his tablet.
He quickly mimicked the way his mom usually scolded him,
glaring and saying, “Dad, Mom said you have to focus when you
eat. Working while eating is bad for your digestion.”
Roderick glanced at him.
“Are you trying to tattle on me?”
Kevin nodded.
“If you tattle, I’ll tell her you’re a picky eater.”
Kevin quieted down.
Nearby, Kirsten held up her phone and let out a chuckle.
She said gloatingly, “Sir, Young Master, you two should stop
arguing. I’ve recorded all the evidence. If you don’t eat properly,
I’ll send it all to Chase in a bit.”
Hearing this, Kevin’s little face tensed up, and he immediately
sat up straight.
He picked up his small spoon and seriously began to tackle the
“abandoned” vegetables on his plate. Although his little brow

was still furrowed tightly, his movements were meticulous.
Roderick also paused, glanced at Kirsten expressionlessly, but
his finger silently tapped the sleep button on the side of the
tablet, and the screen instantly went dark.
He picked up his fork, his posture elegant as he clearly focused
on the food in front of him, as if he wasn’t the person who was
