Walking Away While Pregnant: Dear Ex-Husband, I Don't Love You Anymore novel Chapter 192

Chapter 192: Chapter 192

In the penthouse presidential suite of the luxury hotel, Aaron swiped his key card and pushed the door open, stepping aside to make way. "After you."

Dylan walked in with a cold, dark expression. "Nothing else? Then you can go."

"Hey! Kicking me out as soon as I’ve served my purpose? You really are heartless!" Aaron trailed behind him, grumbling under his breath.

Dylan sat down on the sofa and leaned back, closing his eyes in a clear sign that he didn’t want to talk to anyone. Yet his tightly knitted brows made it obvious just how terrible his mood was.

Aaron shut the door, walked over, and sat down on an armchair beside him, eyeing him carefully. "With a personality like yours... well, you deserve to have your wife leave you!"

Dylan ignored him completely.

Wiping a hand down his face, Aaron let out a heavy sigh. "Look, don’t get so worked up. Elise is gorgeous and brilliant, but she’s currently carrying your second child. That guy is probably just a regular neighbor—don’t overthink it!"

At that, Dylan opened his eyes and leveled an icy, piercing stare at him. "Who’s the one overthinking?"

Aaron choked on his words, utterly defeated by his stubborn refusal to admit defeat. Raising both hands in surrender, he said, "Fine, fine, fine! It’s me. I’m the one overthinking. You didn’t think a thing. You’re a clean slate!"

Dylan raised a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, his voice laced with exhaustion. "Have someone file a flight plan right now. We leave Rainport for North City tomorrow."

Aaron froze, staring at him in disbelief. "Man, are you serious?"

Dylan stood up and turned toward the bedroom. "Tell Madeline to pass the word to her. We head back tomorrow morning, and we file for divorce at the Civil Affairs Bureau the day after."

Aaron snapped to his feet. "Dylan, think this through! Once those words are out, you can’t take them back!"

Without pausing for a moment, Dylan opened the bedroom door and stepped inside.

The door clicked shut.

Staring at the closed door, Aaron ran a frustrated hand through his hair.

When Madeline received Aaron’s call, she felt completely numb.

Dylan was actually going back to North City to get a divorce!

Clutching her phone, Madeline hesitated over whether to tell Elise. It was exasperating—the two people actually involved weren’t in any rush, yet she and Aaron were working themselves into an absolute frenzy playing messengers!

At the end of the call, Aaron had even asked her to figure something out to persuade Elise.

Madeline felt like crying. How could she possibly persuade her? This time, Dylan and Elise were in unprecedented alignment.

After hanging up, Madeline hid in the backyard like an ostrich burying its head in the sand.

She was torn. She genuinely regretted forcing Aaron to spill the truth earlier. Knowing too many secrets was pure torment.

When Elise found her in the backyard, Madeline was squatting by the fish pond with a daisy in hand, plucking its petals one by one.

"Tell her... don’t tell her... tell her... don’t tell her..."

Elise walked up behind her and patted her head lightly. "What are you mumbling to yourself about?"

Startled, Madeline jumped up, tossed the flower aside, and gave a guilty, awkward laugh. "Oh, just keeping myself entertained out of boredom! What brought you out?"

"Mrs. Shaw called. Today’s her birthday, so she invited us over to her guesthouse tonight to celebrate."

"Oh, I see!" Madeline clapped her hands together. "I’ll go change and put on some makeup. Is Dr. Sanders coming along?"

"Of course."

Madeline nodded. "Then I’ll get ready!"

With that, she bolted into the house like a whirlwind.

Watching her rush off, Elise gently stroked her belly. She lowered her eyes, her gaze drifting over the scattered petals on the ground. Her thick eyelashes veiled whatever emotion lay beneath.
