Want My Womb? I'll Make You Childless novel Chapter 122

Chapter 122

Clara Bennett had just finished dinner with Ryan Walker and Lila Walker and was getting ready to head home when Chris Evans called.

Ms. Bennett, we’ve found Anthony Parker. He’s at the abandoned Brickworks Factory in the suburbs, and he’s safe for now.

I’m on my way there with a team, and I’ve also notified the local police.

Okay, I understand.

Hanging up, Clara glanced at Ryan Walker, who was holding a drowsy Lila, Could you send me the location? I need to get over there.

Where to?

Ryan Walker saw the urgency in her face and asked, concerned.

They found Anthony Parker. I’m going to check it out.

I’ll go with you.

Ryan Walker wasn’t about to let her go alone.

Clara glanced at Lila, who was nearly asleep in Ryan’s arms, and shook her head.No need, you should take Lila home first.

It’s okay.

Ryan handed Lila over to a servant and instructed the driver to take them both back.

Seeing this, Clara knew he was worried about her, so she didn’t argue. She opened the driver’s side door, ready to get in.

I’ll drive.

Ryan said.

Knowing her emotions were running high, Clara nodded without protest.Okay.

They got into the car, which sped off, the scenery outside the window blurring past.

Clara stared out the window, her expression serious.

Don’t worry, it’ll be alright.

Ryan, catching Clara’s increasingly troubled expression out of the corner of his eye, offered a word of comfort. But his own eyes held a barely noticeable gravity as he pressed down harder on the accelerator.

Mm.

Clara nodded, forcing a smile.

Half an hour later, the car stopped a few hundred meters from the Brickworks Factory. Chris wasn’t there yet, but an unmarked police car was parked a short distance away.

It was pitch black all around them, and figures seemed to be moving in the shadows of the trees.

Without much hesitation, Clara opened the door, got out, and squinted at the Brickworks Factory in the distance.

Ryan had initially wanted Clara to stay in the car, but after glancing around, he realized the white SUV was far too conspicuous. She’d

be safer sticking close to him.

Stay close. No matter what happens, don’t leave my sight.

Okay.

Clara eyed the inky darkness around them, a shiver of unease crawling up her spine. She nodded, mimicking Ryan’s movements as they crouched low, following the aged brick wall toward the Brickworks Factory.

The silhouette of the abandoned Brickworks Factory looked monstrous against the night, its broken walls and scattered ruins radiating

an ominous air.

They hadn’t walked far when the muffled sounds of a struggle drifted on the night air, punctuated by men’s grunts and curses.

Clara’s heart leaped into her throat, and she instinctively looked at Ryan.

Ryan’s gaze sharpened instantly, turning hard as steel. He immediately pulled Clara behind a slab of discarded concrete. Hide here, and

don’t move.

But-

A knot of fear tightened in Clara’s stomach. She wanted to suggest waiting for Chris to arrive before going any further, but Ryan

silenced her with a look.

Ryan knew exactly what Clara’s worried eyes meant, but if anything happened to Anthony, they wouldn’t be able to get the evidence of Diane ordering him, and who knew what other troubles might arise.

Chris won’t be here anytime soon.

Ryan smiled reassuringly at Clara.Time waits for no one. I’ll go check it out and be right back.

He took two steps forward, glanced back at Clara, and, feeling uneasy, pulled a pen from his pocket and handed it to her.

There’s a razor blade in the back of this pen, use it for selfdefense.

He twisted the back of the pen to demonstrate it to Clara. Seeing her obediently nod, he resisted the urge to touch her head, and darted

off.

His dark figure moved like a panther in the night, silently making its way into the heart of the Brickworks Factory.

Clara gripped the pen tightly, her eyes fixed on the direction Ryan had disappeared, her gaze full of worry,

She knew all too well that Ryan was putting himself in danger because he feared it would be too late by the time Chris arrived.

If anything happened to Anthony, it would be even more difficult to gather evidence that Diane had ordered him to cause the car

accident that killed her mother.

The interior of the Brickworks Factory was a scene of utter chaos, with shattered bricks scattered everywhere and dust hanging thick in

the air.

Ryan Walker, aided by the faint moonlight, quickly assessed the situation.

Two men in police uniforms lay on the ground. One was unconscious, eyes closed, with blood trickling from a gash on his forehead.

The other clutched his abdomen, his face pale, blood flecking his lips, as he was surrounded by four men in black.

Mr. Clark stood at the forefront, a rusty steel pipe clutched in his hand, his eyes gleaming with a sinister, serpentine glint. Hand over Anthony Parker, and I’ll make sure you don’t get killed.

The injured officer gasped for air, gritting his teeth. No way! We’ve already called for backup. You won’t get away with this!

Get away?

Mr. Clark scoffed, hefting the steel pipe in his hand.Out here in the middle of nowhere, who’s going to know if we kill you?”

He raised a hand, signaling his men.Do it! Take him out first, then find Anthony Parker!

One of the men in black immediately threw a punch at the officer, who barely managed to dodge, but the movement aggravated his abdominal wound, causing him to grunt in pain.

Just then, a dark figure darted out from the side, as swift as lightning.

A dull thud echoed as the blackclad man, caught completely off guard, was struck in the back of the head with a brutal punch, collapsing to the ground like a felled tree.

Mr. Clark and his crew spun around, their faces etched with disbelief.

Ryan Walker stood his ground, tall and unyielding as a pine, a palpable aura of icy menace radiating from him. What kind of skill is it to gang up like this?

It’s you.

Mr. Clark narrowed his eyes, sizing up Ryan, a flicker of caution in his gaze.I advise you to mind your own business.

After Anthony Parker escaped from the house, he had been tailing him, constantly looking for an opportunity to get rid of him.

He finally saw him enter this abandoned Brickworks Factory, and just as he was about to make his move, these two cops

Now that the cops were taken care of, Ryan Walker appeared.

  1. up.

Although he had noticed that Ryan was no ordinary person when he saw him at Serenity Garden before, he didn’t take Ryan to heart now that they were in great numbers.

Take him down.

Mr. Clark raised his chin, signaling his men to attack.

They exchanged glances before swiftly encircling Ryan.

However, Ryan Walker had spent years in the military, and his movements were several notches faster than theirs.

Before they could react, he threw the first punch, taking one of them down.

Another man in black swung a punch, but Ryan dodged it, simultaneously grabbing the guy’s wrist and twisting it with brutal force.

A sharp crackechoed through the silent Brickworks Factory, the sound of breaking bone cutting through the air.

The man screamed, collapsing to the ground in agony.

In a matter of seconds, two men were already down for the count.

Mr. Clark was shocked and enraged, the veins in his hand bulging as he gripped the steel pipe. All of you, get him! Kill him!

The remaining two men exchanged a glance and charged at Ryan, one attacking high, the other low.

Instead of backing away, Ryan moved forward, his left foot lashing out and connecting with one man’s knee. The guy’s leg buckled, and he crumpled to the ground.

Ryan spun around, slamming his elbow into the other man’s chest. The guy grunted, flying backward and crashing into a crumbling wall, sliding to the ground.

In the blink of an eye, all four men were taken care of.

Mr. Clark’s pupils shrank, his eyes filled with terror as he stared at Ryan, but he tried to maintain a facade of composure.Who the hell

are you?

Ryan Walker advanced, his steps measured and deliberate, each one feeling like a crushing blow to Mr. Clark’s heart. That’s not something you need to know.

Knowing he was outmatched, Mr. Clark’s eyes darted around, desperately searching for an escape route.

Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from the entrance of the Brickworks Factory, growing louder along with the sirens of approaching police cars.

The cops are here!

A glimmer of hope sparked in the injured officer’s eyes as he shouted.

Mr. Clark’s face paled. Abandoning all pretense, he spun around and bolted towards a narrow path at the rear of the factory.

Ryan was about to give chase when he spotted a figure huddled in a corner Anthony Parker.

He hesitated, then ultimately went to the injured officer first, checking on his condition. Can you hang in there?

The officer nodded, speaking with difficulty.Thankthank you for your help.

Ryan was about to respond when he suddenly heard Clara’s terrified scream from nearby.

Clara! His heart clenched, and he whirled around.

Mr. Clark had somehow circled behind the brick wall. He was now gripping Clara’s arm tightly, a utility knife in his other hand. The sharp blade had already broken the skin, drawing tiny beads of blood.

Don’t move!

Fear made Mr. Clark’s voice tremble, but his eyes burned with a ferocious intensity.Anyone who comes closer, I’ll kill her!Clara’s heart hammered against her ribs. The sharp sting on her neck sent a jolt of tension through her body, but she forced herself to stay calm. Her gaze locked onto Ryan, her eyes filled with worry, not fear.

Ryan’s pupils constricted, a wave of icy rage emanating from him, chilling the very air. He slowly raised his hands, his voice a low, dangerous growl.Let her go. Whatever you want, come at me.

His

eyes were locked on Mr. Clark’s hand, calculating. Any sign of weakness, any slip, and he’d be on him in an instant. Chris arrived with a swarm of police officers. Seeing the scene unfold before him, he immediately halted, signaling his team to hold their positions.

Mr. Clark, you’re surrounded! Drop your weapon, release the hostage, and we’ll recommend leniency!

Chris shouted, his voice firm and commanding.

Mr. Clark’s eyes darted around, taking in the overwhelming scene. A sea of police officers had completely encircled the Brickworks

Factory, the harsh glare of headlights illuminating the entire area, leaving him with nowhere to fun.

His face grew paler, and his breathing became rapid, his knuckles white as he gripped the utility knife.Don’t come any closer! None of you!

He dragged Clara backward, step by step, until his heels hit the crumbling wall of the Brickworks Factory. There was nowhere left to

retreat.

Get me a car, full of gas, or I’ll kill her right now!

Mr. Clark roared, his emotions on the verge of a complete breakdown.

Clara felt the pressure on her neck increasing, making it difficult to breathe. She knew she couldn’t wait any longer.

Her eyes darted around, quickly scanning the area until she spotted a sharp piece of broken brick near her feet.

Seizing the moment when Mr. Clark’s attention was drawn to the police, she bent down abruptly, slashing the box cutter hidden in her hand fiercely toward Mr. Clark’s ribs. At the same time, she stomped backward hard on the sharp rock under her foot.

Argh!

Caught off guard, Mr. Clark grunted, a sharp pain shooting through his ribs. The grip on her neck loosened slightly.

Now’s my chance!

Clara jerked her head to the side, dodging the utility knife at her throat. Simultaneously, she reached up, grabbed Mr. Clark’s wrist, and twisted it backward with all her might.

The pain made Mr. Clark lose his grip, and the box cutter clattered to the ground.

Ryan Walker, who had been closely watching Mr. Clark and Clara, was already poised to act. Seeing his chance, he immediately lunged forward, pulling Clara behind him to shield her.

You wanna die?!

Fueled by pain and rage, Mr. Clark reached into his waistband and pulled out a switchblade, aiming it at Ryan’s chest.

Ryan’s eyes flashed with resolve. Without hesitation, he raised his arm to block the blow, simultaneously twisting to shove Clara further away.

With a sickening shick, the switchblade sliced through Ryan’s arm, and blood instantly gushed out, staining his black sleeve crimson.

Clara’s pupils dilated in horror, and she cried out,Ryan Walker!

Ryan, as if oblivious to the injury, retaliated with a swift punch to Mr. Clark’s face. The force of the blow sent Mr. Clark staggering backward, blood streaming from his nose.

Chris Evans immediately barked the order:Move in!

Several police officers swiftly rushed forward, pinning Mr. Clark to the ground and slapping on the handcuffs.

As the police led Mr. Clark away, the immediate danger subsided.

Clara rushed to Ryan’s side, her eyes instantly brimming with tears as she stared at the blood gushing from his arm.How are you? Does

it hurt?

She wanted to touch him, but hesitated, afraid of causing him more pain, and could only watch him anxiously.

Ryan raised a hand to gently stroke her hair, a faint smile playing on his lips, his voice still gentle. It’s okay, just a scratch.

Though his face was pale, his gaze remained unwavering, filled with adoration and reassurance as he looked at Clara. His cool and collected demeanor was on full display at that moment.

Chris approached, his expression grave as he examined Ryan’s wound.Let the paramedics take a look at that.

Ryan nodded, but his gaze shifted to Anthony, who was huddled in the corner.

Anthony watched as Mr. Clark was led away, then glanced at the wound on Ryan’s arm. Recalling Diane’s earlier words, and the sheer ferocity with which Mr. Clark had tried to kill him, he began to tremble uncontrollably.

He finally understood that Diane had never intended to let him go. All her promisesthat she would take care of himand help her daughter get off the hook-were nothing but lies.

All she wanted was the recording he had, and then to silence him permanently.

If it hadn’t been for Clara, Ryan, and the police, he’d probably be a cold corpse by now.

The paramedics loaded the unconscious officer into the ambulance, while the injured officers were helped away to have their wounds

treated.

Anthony slowly emerged from the corner, his face pale, his eyes filled with lingering fear and remorse.

He walked up to Clara and bowed deeply.Ms. Bennett, I’m sorry. I was a fool to believe Diane’s lies; I almost got you killed.

Clara looked at him, her eyes filled with a mix of resentment, helplessness, and, most of all, relief. It’s over now. You’re safe.

Anthony looked up, took a deep breath, and finally made up his mind.

Diane wanted to kill me to cover her tracks. She’s not a good person. She was involved in

mother’s your

accident.

If you need me to, I can testify for you.

I do have a recording from back then. I recorded it by accident, and it’s been hidden with my cousin ever since.

A glimmer of hope flashed in Chris’s eyes.Where does your cousin live?

Anthony spoke clearly, enunciating each word:My cousin is in Seaside City. The exact address is
