The implication was too clear. Mia could tolerate Olivia’s taunts for Clara’s sake, but she wouldn’t stand for her slinging mud at Clara.

“Honey, people with rotten hearts see filth everywhere. Back then, you chased Mason overseas, getting all cozy with him even before Clara broke up with him. And now you have the nerve to talk about her like that?”

Mia’s voice was loud enough for the sales associates behind them to hear clearly.

Feeling the slightly scornful gazes of the sales associates, Emma’s face instantly flushed crimson. “That’s a load of crap! I went abroad to study, it just so happened that Mason and I were in the same place.”

Emma raised an eyebrow.”Clara, we’re family, for crying out loud. You can’t just take her side against me!” Clara sighed, looking at Emma with a blank expression. “Family? “You knew how important Anderson Industries was to me, but when Uncle shorted the company, you still told me to let it go.”
