Chapter 62
Hearing this, Ethan’s brows furrowed as he looked at Clara, his eyes filled with anger, only to meet her own, now red-rimmed.
Her
eyes were filled with resentment and despair, much like the way she looked when she slapped him back at the Brownstone.

A sudden sense of unease washed over him. Ethan pulled out his phone and saw several missed calls from Clara, as well as the court’s hearing
notice.
“You’re serious?”
Clara had actually filed for divorce. Was she really going to divorce him?
Why?
He stepped forward, wanting to take her by the shoulders, but Clara violently pushed him away.”Get away from me! Don’t touch me!”
“Ethan, the only thing I want from you now is a divorce. I don’t want anything else to do with you.”
“If you want a child, go to Olivia, go to Natalie, go to anyone else. There are plenty of women willing, as long as you want them!”
Ethan didn’t understand why Clara was bringing Natalie into this again. He began to explain, “Natalie and I only have a working relationship. We’re husband and wife, Clara. Of course, you’re the only one who can have my child.”
“Clara, divorce isn’t a game. You can’t just file for divorce over something so small.”
Clara suddenly laughed.
Something small?
So, in Ethan’s eyes, all of this was just a small matter?!
Tears welled up in her eyes. Clara wiped her face, and pressed her hand against her heaving chest.”Why can’t I?”
“You’ve never treated me like your wife, and you’ve never stood up for me in public.”
“Even now, all you can do is threaten me, negotiating with me as if I were just another business rival!”
Ethan opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but he knew Clara was too upset and emotional to listen to reason. All he could say was, “I’m doing this for your own good. Think it over, and I’ll wait for answer.”

As soon as the door closed, Clara collapsed to the floor, covering her face and sobbing quietly.
Outside the break room, Ryan leaned against the wall, his face as cold as ice as he listened to the sounds of her crying.
He hadn’t intended to eavesdrop on their conversation; he’d merely thought that being there to keep others from hearing would save Clara some trouble.
But instead, he’d overheard all of that. When Ethan walked out of the break room, Ryan raised an eyebrow, his face full of mockery. “Mr. Carter, you really have a way with words. Pushing someone to this point and still thinking you’re doing it for their own good?” “You know what? You’re just like your dad, cut from the same cloth. All you guys do is ‘protect’ people in ways you think are right, never giving a damn about how
else feels.”

Ethan shot him a quick glance, his lips pressed into a tight line. Not wanting to start a fight here, he turned and brushed past him.
Hearing the sound of a glass shattering from inside the lounge, Natalie’s heart jumped. She started to go check on Clara, but Benjamin stopped
her.
Already in a bad mood, she saw Ethan walking out looking like a thundercloud and hurried over, asking with concern, “Eth, are you okay?”
Ethan shook his head, his voice low and husky.”Let’s just go.”
Natalie quickly fell into step beside him. When she didn’t hear any more muffled crying from the lounge, she glanced back, a flicker of triumph in her eyes.
Benjamin watched them go, letting out a heavy sigh. Knowing Ethan wasn’t going to deal with the Clara situation, he pulled out his phone and called the PR department.
“Release a statement immediately. Say that the matter of Clara Bennett leaking confidential information has been thoroughly investigated and is purely a false accusation by Mason Walker. Tag Walker Venture Partners and demand an explanation from Mason Walker. Nova Al will not
tolerate this.”
As soon as Nova Al’s statement dropped, it set the internet on fire.
Some level-headed individuals saw through Mason Walker’s actions, recognizing it as a blatant attempt to compete with Nova Al and seize market share. They lamented the Anderson family’s cold-heartedness, willing to sacrifice their own niece for mere profit.
Before the rest of the internet could even react, Mason Walker, within half an hour, released several photos via the Walker Venture Partners

official blog. These were the very pieces of evidence previously presented by the National Security Agency, along with a snippet of a recorded
conversation.
He even included a screenshot of a past conversation with Clara Bennett from when they were dating. The screenshot was cleverly cropped to hide the timestamps, and his replies were notably cold, highlighting Clara’s one-sided infatuation.
The caption read:”This is not a false accusation, but the vigilance expected of every citizen. Furthermore, we are not abandoning family ties; it’s simply that some individuals’ actions are too disgraceful.”
This news instantly ignited a firestorm online!
“I always suspected her behavior when she confronted Mr. Carter and Ms. Bennett. Turns out, she’s a serial homewrecker!”
“She not only broke up Mr. Carter and Ms. Bennett, but she also tried to steal her own sister’s man. No wonder the Anderson family wants nothing to do with her.”
“Could someone like that really not have leaked secrets? Could Clara Bennett have someone powerful backing her, otherwise, how could the National Security Agency find ‘no evidence’?”
“It’s chilling to think about. Why is Nova AI so protective of her? Could there be something fishy going on?”
“There definitely is something fishy! Boycott Nova AI, boycott the system Clara Bennett developed!”
The public opinion flipped in an instant, and malice surged towards Clara like a tidal wave once more.
Hashtags like Clara Bennett HasBackers and #ClaraBennettSeducingHerSister’s Husband# quickly shot to the top of trending searches. Online rhetoric, guided by those with ulterior motives, began to impact Nova Al’s stock prices.
That day, even before closing time, a group of people gathered with banners, blocking the entrance to the Nova Al building.
Benjamin Hayes stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, watching the farce unfold below, his brow furrowed with worry.
He wasn’t concerned about the product being boycotted, but rather feared that the situation would escalate to a point where the authorities, in order to appease the public, would actually hand Clara over to be convicted.
Mason Walker’s move was ruthless; he was driving her into a corner!
“Mr. Hayes, we should hold a press conference.”
Clara Bennett stood beside him, her emotions now calmed.”I have those chat logs that Mason Walker has too…”
“Let’s wait for instructions from above.”
Mr. Hayes waved his hand, cutting her off.”Even if we were to hold a press conference, we’d need the cooperation of the National Security Agency.”
Clara fell silent, staring at the throng of people below.
The crowd below included reporters, influencers, and ordinary citizens, but their actions clearly benefited someone. They gathered downstairs, not engaging in any extreme behavior, but chatting and gossiping with passersby.
“That Clara Bennett from Nova Al’s research team, yeah, the one who represented Nova AI at the press conference before, not only leaked secrets but also hooked up with a bunch of guys.”
“Right, her. She’s a home-wrecker, not only ruining Mr. Carter and Ms. Bennett’s relationship but also shamelessly seducing her own brother-in-law.”
“And that’s not all; didn’t you see the photos online? This morning, a reporter went to her house, and some guy no one’s ever seen before was holding her as they left.”
“That guy even broke someone’s phone for her; he’s probably another one of her lovers!”
“Wow, she’s really something. What’s up with Nova Al? How can they employ someone like that? I bet they’re in on it too.”
Amidst the chatter, a black Maybach slowly approached and stopped in front of Nova Al. The doors opened, and two bodyguards in black suits got out first, respectfully opening the rear door. James Carter, leaning on a cane, slowly emerged from the cat.
His silver hair was neatly combed back, making him look a bit more energetic, yet he couldn’t stop coughing.
It’s Mr. Carter!” someone whispered, “Why is he here?”
“He’s definitely here to deal with Clara Bennett. After all, she made Mr. Carter lose his wife. There’s no way the old man will let her off easy!”
“Just wait and see, with Mr. Carter taking action, even Nova Al won’t be able to protect Clara Bennett!”

Mr. Carter ignored the surrounding whispers, glanced at his bodyguard, and said in a low voice, “Control all these people, find out who organized this, and who else is behind it. Don’t let any of them go!”
