Chapter 373
She was too surprised to even come up with a sarcastic comment.
When she regained the power of speech, Olivia tightened her hand on the doorframe, and she almost slammed the door in their faces. “What the hell are two doing here?” she demanded.
“Alexander told me that you were drinking last night, so he wanted me to drive you to work,” Richard explained.
“And when you didn’t come to work, I got worried that you were sick,” Alexander said. “When you weren’t at your apartment, I realized that you must have driven to your parents‘ house in the middle of the night.” His expression darkened. “Which was very irresponsible.”
Olivia rolled her eyes. He had no right to tell her what to do. “I was perfectly fine to drive,” she said. “Our…nightly activities sobered me up.”
Alexander smirked, and his eyes sparked with desire. Olivia flushed. She couldn’t believe that she had just said that in front of Richard. Alexander stepped into the house without being invited, and Richard followed after his boss.
Olivia’s eyes widened, knowing that Alexander wasn’t going to be happy to see that she was hanging out with Aidyn.
Sure enough, when Alexander walked into the kitchen, his eyes immediately landed on Aidyn. Anger and jealousy tore through him, and his hands clenched into tight fists.
“Alexander!” Stanley said with excitement. “I didn’t know that you were coming.”
But Alexander didn’t reply. He was too busy glaring at Aidyn.
The growing tension in the room was the last straw for Olivia. She needed to escape from this situation and collect her thoughts. She still couldn’t bear to even look at Stanley after the realization that she had. And now, Alexander was glaring at her childhood friend like he was going to kill him.
“We need more cream for the drinks,” Olivia said to no one in particular. That was a total lie, but at this point, she didn’t care. “I’m going to go to the basement fridge to grab some.‘

Quickly, she made her escape. At her parents‘ house, you needed to go outside in order to get to the basement. When Olivia pulled open the back door, she almost fainted from shock.

Olivia quickly shut the door before anyone else could see that Ethan was here. If Alexander caught sight of him, there was no telling what he would do. The last thing she needed right now was for Ethan and Alexander to get in a physical altercation and destroy her parents‘ house.
Ethan and her father seemed like they were arguing, both of their voices were raised, and their faces were turning increasingly red, but Olivia didn’t have the context to figure out what they were fighting about.
“Why won’t you accept my gift, DeAngelo?” Ethan said and tried to thrust a wrapped present at her father.
DeAngelo snorted and crossed his arms. “After the way you treated my daughter, you’re lucky I didn’t punch you in the face the moment I saw you. Now get off of my property.”
Olivia’s stomach dropped when she realized they were fighting about her. She bit her lip and looked back at the closed back door. She felt trapped like a cornered animal. Olivia wasn’t sure whether or not to stay out here or go back inside. Both were unappealing to her. It was like picking which way she wanted to die: someone else shooting her or doing it herself.
She let out a quiet sigh and snuck back inside before her father or Ethan could notice her presence.
But two minutes later, Ethan and DeAngelo walked into the kitchen. DeAngelo stopped short as he gazed around the crowded room. Had his wife planned a party for nine in the morning and forgot to tell him? He had been getting in his car to go to work when he spotted Ethan walking up to his front door and intercepted him and dragged him to the backyard before he could talk to Olivia.
Now, the strangest gathering of people were sitting before him. Aidyn–who he knew was interested in his daughter. His mother, Skylar. Alexander–his daughter’s boss. DeAngelo liked Alexander after he had been charming to him and his wife, but he was still suspicious of Alexander’s intentions with his daughter. And DeAngelo’s hands became slick with sweat when he spotted Stanley. What the hell was that man doing in his house?
