Chapter 492

Finnian stopped, turned back.

“It was Kaia,” Elaine took a deep breath. “Kala recorded her conversation with Noelle I was so angry when Kaia brought it up last time. She must have recorded it to prove she was right and I misunderstood her”

Finnian’s handsome face stiffened, his voice dropping low. “I understand. I’ll go talk to Kaa.

“Do you have to divorce?” Elaine suddenly realized Kaia was much better suited to be Mrs. Sanders. Her talent, intelligence, and strength were a perfect match for Finnian.

“Maybe.” Finnian couldn’t control this; Kaia’s mind was made up.

“Sigh, how did it end up like this?” Elaine felt exhausted and heartbroken.

After leaving the hospital, Finnian immediately called Kaia. It rang for a long time before she answered.

“Where are you?” Finnian asked in a low voice.

“Get to the point.”

“I want to see you,” he said.

“For what? Business or personal?” Kaia sounded unusually cold.

“Personal.” His voice grew hoarse. “Where are you? I’ll come to you.”

Kaia was on her way to pick up their daughter. “Meet me at the school gates. I’m picking up Brynlee.”

“Alright.”

Half an hour later, Kaia had just parked her car when a black Bentley pulled up beside hers.

Finnian had beaten her there.

She checked the time and stayed in the car, as there were still fifteen minutes until school

ended.

Finnian walked over, opened the passenger door, and got in.

“Can I listen to that recording?” he asked quietly.

Kaia gave a faint scoff. “Are you trying to fight for justice on her behalf, Finnian? Do you I was wrong to record her?”

His brow furrowed slightly. “That’s not what I meant. I just want to hear what she said.”

She glanced at him, pulled out her phone, and played the audio. Noelle’s voice filled the quiet cabin. Finnian’s expression darkened by the second. His jaw clenched tight, and the veins on

his hand holding the phone bulged.

He hit pause barely halfway through, then closed his eyes, leaning back against the seat

Kaia looked at him indifferently. “Why did you stop? There’s more.”

“I’m sorry” Finnian’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He opened his eyes and looked at her. From start to finish, this was my mistake. I gave her the illusion that she had a chance I gave her the confidence to come after you.”

Kala let out a cold laugh. “I don’t need your apologies. I just want to be free of this terrible marriage.”
