Chapter 505
He slowly descended the steps and walked toward the sedan parked by the curb. Standing next to the car, Dexter watched his boss’s heavy, dragging footsteps and let out a helpless sigh. Regardless of a man’s status or power, when it was time to ruin his own life, he would do it flawlessly.
“Mr. Sanders, that car…” Just as Finnian slid into the backseat of his Bentley, Dexter was about to start the engine when he noticed a Maybach gliding past them.
Sharp-eyed, Dexter instantly recognized the license plate. It belonged to Simon Quinn.
Finnian saw it too. His dark eyes narrowed dangerously. “What is he doing here?”
Dexter quickly got into the driver’s seat and slowly steered the car toward the parking lot, watching the Maybach pull in as well.
“Mr. Sanders, it looks like Mr. Quinn is here to see Dr. Chavez.”
As they spoke, Simon’s car stopped directly in front of Kaia’s, blocking her from pulling out.
Kaia was already in a foul mood and was about to get out and give the driver a piece of her mind when a bouquet of roses caught her eye. Then, Simon Quinn, dressed in a classic black-and-white suit, stepped out of the car.
Kaia stared, her eyes widening in sheer shock.
Simon looked as if he had summoned every ounce of his courage to be there. His handsome face was flushed with nervous energy, his ears burning hot. But he knew that if he missed this chance, he would regret it for the rest of his life. He couldn’t afford to be reserved anymore. He wanted to confess his feelings to Kaia before any other suitors could beat him to it.
Kaia stepped out of the driver’s seat, staring blankly at the tall, handsome man before her.
Despite his flushed face and obvious embarrassment, Simon’s steps were firm as he walked up to her. “Kaia, these flowers… I bought them on the way here. For you.”
Seeing him hand over the bouquet despite his evident nerves, Kaia couldn’t help but offer a polite smile. “Simon, what are you doing? How did you know I’d be here?”
“It was Brynlee… Brynlee told me you were coming here to divorce him today. I… I just wanted to come and see if it was true.”
Kaia looked bewildered. Why was little Brynlee getting involved in this? They had chatted a bit last night, but she never imagined her daughter would actually call Simon.
“Is it true? Are you divorced?” A flicker of urgent hope sparked in Simon’s eyes, terrified that fate was playing another cruel joke on him.
Kaia reached into her handbag, pulled out the green booklet, and waved it in front of him.
Just then, a furious voice exploded from the side.
“Kaia, this is exactly the moment you two have bee waiting for, isn’t it?” Finnian was suddenly standing right next to them.
