When The Moon Hides Her Crown (Seraphina) by Pooja novel Chapter 289

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW

Aran stood across from Silas, his hands casually shoved into his pockets. “I’m unbelievably busy. Spill whatever you called me here for.”

“How dare you let Petal leave the territory without my knowledge?” Silas’ voice was low but seething with fury.

Aran’s gaze remained cool, his posture relaxed. Even though a few days had passed he expected Silas to figure it out, “You act like you could’ve stopped her if you knew. Also, she leaves the territory almost daily because of the Dread Lord. Even though I left the temple, I’m still her protector, and obey her every word like you.”

Silas’ expression twisted with frustration. “One of her protectors would never let her leave the territory and walk right towards the King of Dark Magic instead of stopping her!”

Aran’s face hardened, “That King of Dark Magic had already made it into the territory. If it were not Petal taking him out with her powers at the time, none of you in the temple would have been hidden and safe. I have sensed his dark magic and trust me, he is not anything that we can handle. Only Petal,” he locked eyes with Silas in all seriousness, “it is your own misunderstanding that you are protecting her. You wanted her to stay in the temple, but she is the Queen of the Werewolf realm. You didn’t want her to know what love is, but look now, she’s in love with the Lycan King! You did not want her to leave the territory but that King of Dark Magic entered the territory himself.”

He took a step closer to Silas, his voice dripping with bitterness. “We’re not gods. You can’t change what’s written in her destiny.” Aran took a deep breath, “Plus, if she orders me to do something, I am not going to defy her.”

“You are not going to defy her?!” Silas’ anger boiled over. He grabbed Aran by the collar, “Don’t give me that bullshit, Aran. You’ve always done whatever you want! You’ve never cared about anyone else's feelings! You left this temple! You left your life! You left—” He stopped abruptly, unable to finish the sentence.

Their eyes locked, a moment of tense silence passing between them.

“You fucking talk like if I hadn’t left...you would’ve accepted our truth...” Aran’s voice was barely a whisper.

Silas’s eyes shook with emotions, a mix of anger and regret, before he stepped back, his chest rising with a shaky breath. “If we lose Blood Petal because of this...you’ll owe me the rest of your life.”

Unknown to either of them, Dante, Ryker’s wolf spirit, separated from him to stand under the new moon staring ahead at the Blackpine Forest territory, before he slammed the first nail into the border. The ground shook slightly as Petal, sleeping in her bedroom, jerked violently awake not in her bedroom in the Elysium Haven but in a dark room.

Sitting on the bed, she looked around in confusion. Everything in the large bedroom was black, from the bed where she lay to the furniture, but it was strangely beautiful.

"Where am I?" she whispered to herself, swinging her feet onto the cold floor, her confusion growing. The wind, the atmosphere, even the ground beneath her felt too real to be a dream.

It was then that the fluttering of long black curtains caught her attention. She froze, her breath catching in her throat as she realized someone was standing there. Someone tall, shirtless, that was watching her.

She stood, unmoving, her eyes trying to focus on the figure. When she finally got a clear view, her eyes widened in shock.

Ryker.

“Petal!”

Petal gasped loudly only to find herself sitting in the temple, in front of a werewolf pup that accidentally entered the Blackpine Forest but was injured. A run away pup.

“His life is not in danger. Apply this herb to his wounds and send him back to his pack and parents, safely,” Petal advised Theo.

“I understand,” Theo nodded, following her out of the room.

“Petal, are you alright?” Theo asked, his voice filled with concern. “For the past couple of days, you don’t seem to be feeling well. Are you having nightmares?”

Petal’s pace slowed at Theo’s question. She didn’t know whether she should call seeing Ryker a nightmare or not. Over the past few days, she kept ending up in that dark room that was too real to be just a dream. As the days passed, Ryker didn’t just stand behind the swaying curtains. He’d smile, lock eyes with her, and now, every time she saw him in that room, he’d take another step closer.

“I’m fine,” she murmured, heading toward Elysium Haven. But Silas, observing her, sensed nothing was right with her.

Petal didn’t know what was happening to her. Since her last encounter with Ryker, she had nearly forgotten him, but for the past half month, it felt like he was somehow taking over her mind.

After a brief meeting in Elysium Haven she turned to the head warrior. “Any progress in finding Donna?”

“No, my Queen. There’s still no trace of her.”

Petal’s heart squeezed with worry. Donna had been missing for almost a month after leaving to handle a rogue attack in the pack, a mission Petal had sent her on. Her sudden disappearance unsettled Petal. Donna wasn’t just her right-hand person, she was also a close friend.

“Send more wolves to find her!” Petal commanded, calming the negative thoughts.

However Dread’s eyes did not miss how restless she had been over the past few days. “Petal, is something wrong?”

Petal, going through the document of his kingdom paused, “why do you ask?”
