When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 133

Artina was terrified, her sobs growing more frantic. “What more do you want?”

Even Matteo couldn’t stand it any longer and spoke up. “Ms. Sargent, her face is already badly swollen. It might take a week to heal. The delay will cost us a lot of money. Maybe… this is enough.”

His voice grated on Henrietta’s nerves. She shot him a look. “Are you telling me how to do my job?”

Matteo immediately backed down, shaking his head. “No.”

Henrietta remained seated while Artina knelt, the power dynamic absolute. She lifted her foot, the tip of her heel pressing against Artina’s throat. “Tell me, what makes you think you can compare to me? That you can challenge me? When you were spreading those rumors, did you forget who you are, and who I am?”

Artina was speechless, capable only of crying and begging. “Ms. Sargent, I was wrong! I’ll never do it again!”

The initial rage and defiance she felt had been crushed under Henrietta’s heel, leaving nothing but fear.

Matteo stood by silently, his eyes fixed on Henrietta’s face, a thrill of excitement running through him. She was this jealous! He never imagined she would torture Artina like this. He’d thought it would be a simple apology, but… she was willing to delay filming and waste money just to punish Artina. The depth of her jealousy was staggering.

Artina was crying so hard she could barely breathe, on the verge of fainting.

Henrietta withdrew her foot but didn’t dismiss her.

Winona, who had been enjoying the spectacle, finally stood up and walked over. She looked down at Artina with amusement. “You’re really something, Ms. Harmon. A D-list heiress from a nobody family daring to spread rumors about the Sargent family heiress—who also happens to be your boss. Just how much do you love Matteo? Or did you get arrogant because the company decided to promote you? I’m genuinely curious. In a world like ours, what kind of artist dares to go against their boss? How conceited can you be?”

Artina was trapped. She couldn’t explain that she had spread the rumor to help Matteo reconcile with Henrietta and drive Joaquin away. Publicly, she was Matteo’s admirer, so she should have been happy to see Henrietta with someone else. Claiming jealousy now would only infuriate Henrietta further and risk her career. Cornered, she could only repeat her pleas mechanically. “I won’t do it again, Ms. Sargent! Please let me go this one time. I will never defy you again!”

“Your sincerity is lacking,” Winona remarked.

Artina looked up at Winona, her eyes swollen shut. “What… what do you want me to do?”

Winona smiled. “Our industry has so many ways of dealing with people. Tell me, which one do you think suits you?”
