When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 170

Artina’s words had been polite enough, but Charlotte’s response was anything but.

“I have an old hand injury,” she said, her tone dripping with disdain. “I can’t lift it.”

The excuse was so flimsy it was a blatant insult. But Charlotte didn’t care. She had no respect for Artina.

As expected, Artina’s face darkened further. The short-haired girl, always the most volatile, slammed her hands on the table and shot to her feet. “Who do you think you’re kidding?!”

Charlotte slammed the table right back. “Who are you yelling at?!”

The conflict erupted. The other four friends stood up in unison. “You’re going too far!”

“We toast you in good faith, and you humiliate us like this?”

“Just because you’re the boss of a production company and a Sargent heiress doesn’t mean you can rule Juno City!”

“Exactly! What kind of people are you? Artina graciously hosts a dinner, apologizes, and toasts you, and this is how you treat her? Do you have any idea who you’re messing with now?”

“Artina’s fiancé is the one who really runs this city!” the short-haired girl spat, pointing a finger at Henrietta. “Just wait until he gets here! He’ll make you pay! Don’t you cry then! Don’t think your precious Sargent family is so great!”

Henrietta smirked. “Fine, let him come. I’d like to see exactly how he plans to make me pay.”

The calmer Henrietta appeared, the more enraged the short-haired girl became. She stomped her foot.

“Artina, when is he getting here? Your boss is insufferable! No wonder she had that dog of a director bully you on set. Get him here now and teach this old hag a lesson! Bankrupt her family! Run the Sargents out of Juno City!”

At that, Charlotte shot to her feet. “Watch your mouth!”

Winona added, “You think you can run the Sargent family out of Juno City?”

Henrietta looked at the short-haired girl. “Tell him to hurry up. If he can’t run my family out of this city, he loses.”

“Artina, call him now!” the short-haired girl shrieked, frustrated by Henrietta’s composure.

Artina continued her act. “Oh, let’s just forget it.”

But her friends, playing their part, wouldn’t let it go. “We can’t! Artina, she’s gone too far!”

“Exactly,” the short-haired girl seethed. “If she won’t drink, I’ll make her drink!”
