This time, Henrietta didn't stop. Instead, she gave a quiet command. "Throw them out."
Just as her bodyguard replied, "Yes, Miss," Jolie lunged forward, pointing an accusing finger at Henrietta.
"I knew it! You found some other man! That's why you dumped my brother, choosing a day like this to humiliate him! You deliberately spent all his savings on this party just to call it your own birthday and build up your own image! Stop pretending to be some rich socialite, you evil woman!"
Jolie's assumption wasn't entirely baseless. Publicly, Matteo had always appeared to be deeply in love with Henrietta and treated her exceptionally well.
Henrietta had no desire to argue with the Colemans here. She repeated her order in a calm, firm voice. "Throw them out."
"Who are you trying to fool?" Jolie scoffed, then suddenly pointed to the other group. "The man you're with is him! Or maybe you're just trying to get with him!"
Only then did Henrietta realize that Yosef was still standing nearby, apparently… watching the drama unfold?
Just as she looked over, one of Yosef's bodyguards stepped forward and slapped Jolie across the face. "You have some nerve, slandering Mr. Nash's reputation."
"What?" Jolie clutched her cheek in shock. Even though she was new to Juno City and not well-versed in its high society, she at least knew that this magnificent, costly hotel was called ’Nash Hotel.’
Henrietta slowly raised an eyebrow. The powerful CEO’s bodyguards were certainly more decisive, weren't they?
Not to be outdone, one of Henrietta's own bodyguards stepped forward and delivered a backhand slap to Jolie's other cheek. "You're courting death, slandering the reputation of the Sargent heiress!"
Henrietta was speechless. Could they really be this competitive?
Henrietta turned to Yosef, her gaze cool. He happened to be looking at her as well, his expression even colder and more aloof than hers. They stood there for a moment, looking at each other, neither seemingly adept at initiating conversation.
Breaking the silence, Yosef's entourage of bodyguards bowed in unison toward Henrietta. "Good day, Ms. Sargent."
Immediately, Henrietta's bodyguards mirrored the gesture toward the other group. "Good day, Mr. Nash."
Henrietta watched the exchange, a little bemused. As the bodyguards straightened up, Yosef gave Henrietta a brief, cool nod. She returned the gesture politely.
When they reached the large elevators, Yosef didn't step in first. Instead, he looked at her, a surprisingly chivalrous gesture. His handsome face and sharp, imposing aura were so intense that being under his gaze for more than a few seconds was unsettling. Henrietta gave a slight nod and stepped into the elevator.
With too many bodyguards to fit, only a few from each side followed them in, leaving the elevator spacious and uncrowded. Despite now knowing each other's identities and sharing the same space, the two of them remained silent, a cool distance between them.
