Then, his warm lips met hers. He parted them and pushed the sweet candy into her mouth, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, his tongue mingled with hers, sharing the flavor.
It was a playful intimacy Henrietta had never experienced before. All she could think was… it really was sweet.
He had marked himself as having no sexual history, and Henrietta had believed him without question. A man in his position had no need to lie. So, she had to admit, a man’s innate talent in this area was nothing short of miraculous.
A moment later, Yosef pulled back. “How does it taste?” he asked.
Henrietta touched her lips. “Sweet.”
Yosef leaned in and kissed her again.
In the front seat, Calvert could feel his face turning red. “They’re so creative,” he thought with a discreet cough.
They soon arrived at the Nash family estate. When Yosef led Henrietta into the main hall, Jethro and Artina were already there, sitting with Leticia. Leticia and Artina seemed to be getting along splendidly.
All three of them looked up as the couple entered.
Henrietta and Yosef had married in the early fall; now, the season was deepening into late autumn. As they stepped into the warmth of the main hall, a servant immediately came forward to take their coats.
The main hall of the estate was vast, with soaring ceilings, but the moment Yosef entered, his commanding presence seemed to dominate the space. He walked in front with Henrietta, while Calvert and eight bodyguards followed behind.
For a few seconds, Artina’s eyes were filled with an involuntary fascination. Every time this man appeared, his charisma was overwhelming, his presence immense. Even just returning home, he carried himself with the air of a king.
It was… difficult to ignore him, difficult not to be drawn to him, not to desire what he represented. In comparison, Jethro was gentle, refined, and scholarly, lacking that same world-conquering aura.
However, the moment Artina’s gaze fell on Henrietta, her expression darkened.
If Yosef commanded attention, Henrietta was his equal. She wore a fitted black sweater and black leggings that hugged her perfect figure. The sweater’s cowl neck was stylishly designed, giving her a touch of elegance. A pair of white, flat-heeled boots encased her slender, straight legs, adding a hint of sensuality. The stark contrast between black and white created a stunning, high-fashion look. That, combined with her tall, slender frame, her curtain of thick, glossy hair, and her exquisitely beautiful features wrapped in an aloof coolness, made for a breathtaking picture.
Standing beside Yosef, her hand held firmly in his, Henrietta was in no way overshadowed by his powerful presence. In height, in temperament, they were a perfect match—a truly stunning power couple.
Henrietta pulled her thoughts back to the present, wondering how to bring up the candy. Before she could, Yosef turned to Jethro.
“On our way here,” he began, “Henrietta bought a gift specifically for you.”
Jethro stared, taken aback by the statement. Leticia and Artina also looked over, their curiosity piqued.
Yosef gestured with his fingers, and Calvert stepped forward, presenting the gift bag.
Jethro was genuinely surprised. “Henrietta… why would you buy me a gift?”
“Why don’t you see for yourself?” Yosef replied.
Jethro opened the bag and lifted out its contents. He froze when he saw the exquisite jar filled with a colorful assortment of candies. The jar was large, packed to the brim as if to ensure he would never run out. It was both beautiful and clearly high-end.
