When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 300

No one could understand the agony of her shattered dreams. It was… an unbearable, living death. Every second felt like her bones were being crushed.

Just two months ago, this family had been smugly plotting how to manipulate Henrietta, how to bleed her dry, how to make her bend to their will and punish her if she resisted. Now, they were a complete and utter wreck.

Hearing that Jolie's celebrity path was blocked was also a huge blow for Leon. He had been counting on her success.

Just then, their young son, Jayden, ran out of his room. Seeing the chaos—the crying, the screaming—he burst into tears himself. But no one went to comfort him. Instead, Pamela, seething with rage, slapped the little boy twice. “Cry, cry, cry, that’s all you do, you useless thing!”

The slaps only made Jayden wail louder.

Jolie, who should have protected him, was now unhinged. She turned on Jayden, her voice a furious snarl. “It’s all your fault, you little bastard! If it weren’t for you, my amazing future wouldn’t be ruined!”

She blamed her son for the death of her dream. Being a mother was, in her mind, the ultimate sin that held her back.

Jayden froze in terror as Jolie lunged, grabbing him and shaking him by the neck. “Why don’t you just die? You little burden! Why did I ever give birth to you!”

Leon finally had enough and shoved Jolie away. “That’s enough!”

But Jolie had completely lost it. She slapped him hard across the face. “This is your fault too!”

She collapsed onto the floor, a terrifying mix of sobs and laughter escaping her lips. “I’m a star! I’m going to be a star! I am a huge star!”

Matteo looked like he was about to faint from the sheer stress.

Artina sneered, “The fact that a married mother thought she could become a star is laughable in itself. Before, Henrietta probably still had some feelings for your brother, so she was willing to pay to promote you. Now she's been married for a while and has probably developed feelings for her husband. Of course she wouldn't support you anymore. It's perfectly normal. What are you having a breakdown for?”

Hearing this, Jolie scrambled up from the floor and lunged, her hands closing around Artina’s throat. “You’re full of shit! I’m the star! What are you!”

Artina choked, gasping for air. Matteo desperately pried Jolie’s hands away. “Are you insane? Are you trying to kill her?”

Consumed by rage, Jolie’s eyes rolled back in her head, and she fainted.

Dexter sat on the sofa, sobbing quietly. “We had a perfectly good family. How did it come to this?”

---

The next morning, Pamela dragged Dexter to Henrietta’s company. They made a scene at the entrance, throwing a fit and demanding to see her. Eventually, Henrietta let them in.

The two entered her office. Pamela pulled Dexter along, and the two seniors promptly threw themselves at her feet in front of Henrietta.

Henrietta’s expression was calm, showing no surprise or shock. Although they were her elders, and their kneeling was inappropriate, she didn't care.

Pamela was a snake. Henrietta remembered her in the villa, actively encouraging Matteo to just humor her, promising that after they were married, he could ‘put her in her place’ if she didn’t listen.
