When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 310

She then added: *You need to take care of yourself over there, too.* Yosef replied, *Don't worry. I have plenty of people to look after me.* Henrietta sent a winking emoji. *Of course. No one forgets who you are, Yosef.* As she sent it, a thought crossed her mind. He was typing his messages instead of sending voice notes. On the other end, Yosef sent a smiling emoji back, then wrote, *Henrietta, this project is confidential. I won't be able to contact you anymore. I'm also not sure when I'll be back.* Henrietta froze when she saw the message. Confidential? What kind of project was this? It sounded incredibly important. She quickly typed back, *Okay, I understand. I'll be fine, so you don't need to worry about keeping in touch. Just make sure you take extra care of yourself. I'll be waiting for you to come back.* *I will,* Yosef replied. *I have three minutes left. Is there anything else you want to tell me?* The question caught Henrietta off guard. What could she say? *I miss you?* *Kisses?* Or something more direct and affectionate, like *I love you?* None of it felt quite right. But she had already told him to take care of himself twice. After a moment's thought, she took a breath and typed, *Your safety and health come first. Nothing else matters. I… do miss you. I hope you'll come back soon.* She had boldly said it. She didn't care what Yosef might think. They were a couple; perhaps exchanging words like 'miss you' was just part of providing each other with emotional value. Sweet words always lifted one's spirits. It was only natural for a husband and wife to say such things. Yosef's reply came quickly. *I'll remember what you said. I miss you too… I'll try my best to return soon. Don't worry too much.* Before Henrietta could respond, he sent another message. *I have to go. Henrietta…* But he didn't finish the sentence. Instead, he sent a 'kiss' emoji. Seeing it, Henrietta's heart skipped a beat, a sudden, surprising flutter of excitement. What was he going to say? Winona leaned over, curious. "What are you two talking about that's making you so happy?" Henrietta probably hadn't even realized it, but a faint smile had been playing on her lips the entire time, bathing her in an aura of contentment and happiness. She just raised an eyebrow and handed her phone to Winona. Winona took the phone, clicking her tongue in amusement as she scrolled.

"Wow," she said, handing the phone back. "The tension is insane. This is some high-level slow-burn flirting right here. I’m literally taking notes." "You think so?" Henrietta asked, intrigued. "Definitely," Winona nodded. "It's a duel between masters, all polite and perfectly measured." "You make it sound so grand," Henrietta mused. "Honestly, I'm not even sure what to call this…" Winona raised an eyebrow. "It's called love…" The comment made Henrietta laugh, and then she grew thoughtful. Love… was it? Whether it was love or not didn't feel 'important' anymore. As long as two people could be together, respect and admire each other, and maintain a sense of balance and proportion; as long as they could provide each other with emotional support, rely on one another, and build a home and a life together without ever giving up… perhaps that was the deepest and greatest love of all. Charlotte, whose production this was, had been busy playing host. After making the rounds and delivering some official-sounding remarks, she finally came over and sat beside Henrietta. The wrap party had a professional emcee, and it was now his turn to take the stage and deliver some rousing, celebratory remarks to get the evening started.
