When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 322

She didn't give a damn if her son lived or died!

Pamela cried so hard she nearly fainted, while Artina’s blood boiled with sheer rage.

And of all the rotten luck, Yosef was out of the country on business! But who would have thought that Jethro would show up to stay by Henrietta's side, handling this and that for her? Not only had he solved the blood problem, but he even had his own connections to the medical examiner! Did Jethro have his fingers in every pie? She had always assumed he was just living in Yosef's shadow, famous only by association. She never realized Jethro had his own network and power.

Seething with anger and resentment, Artina spat, "I told you that 'proper lady' looks all prim and proper, but she's a total slut! With her man out of town, she's got plenty of others to solve her problems! Yosef isn't here, but his little brother is! I knew it, that bitch wants to have both of them!"

Meanwhile, Winona and Charlotte accompanied Henrietta back to Elysium Manor. Having gone through such an ordeal together, they were all shaken, their thoughts and emotions in a jumble.

Henrietta led them into the master bedroom and asked the staff to run hot baths for everyone. They hadn't even started eating at the banquet, so she also had the kitchen prepare a late dinner.

Winona got on the phone to handle the aftermath of the incident. After they had left, the police arrived and took statements from everyone. The remaining guests, thoroughly shaken, had all gone home. Who would have the appetite to stay for a meal with a large pool of Matteo's blood still on the floor? The shock was palpable. They'd seen scenes like this in movies, but experiencing it in real life was an indescribable feeling. Winona's job was to manage the fallout.

After they had all bathed, changed, and eaten, Henrietta suggested they all spend the night in her massive bed. It was certainly big enough.

Charlotte, ever curious, looked around the room and her eyes landed on a drawer filled with condoms. "Whoa, Mr. Nash is well-prepared," she said, covering her mouth with her hand to stifle a giggle. "His stamina must be impressive."

Henrietta blushed. "Put those back!"

Charlotte did as she was told, then pounced onto the bed. "Okay, spill the details."

Henrietta looked at her blankly. "Spill what?"

"You know!" Charlotte urged. "Come on, give us the full, unabridged version."
