When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 326

But Yosef didn't hang up. He remained silent for several seconds, as if he wanted to say something but ultimately decided against it.

Just then, Britney’s voice came through the phone again. "Yosef, what are you doing? Hurry up, we can't keep them waiting."

Yosef hung up.

Henrietta lowered her phone and lay back on the bed, her thoughts a tangled mess.

In the silence of the night, a small voice in her heart whispered a truth she'd been avoiding: she was falling for Yosef. She realized she felt a pang of jealousy over Britney.

But a rational part of her mind pushed back, arguing that they were just being civil. After all, Yosef and Britney had an amicable breakup and were probably still friends. Bumping into each other didn't have to mean anything more.

With her mind in turmoil, she barely slept a wink all night.

The next day, Henrietta tried to bury herself in her work, telling herself not to overthink things.

News came from the hospital that Matteo was awake. Out of a sense of duty, Henrietta knew she had to visit him. Even though she didn't want to, she had to keep up appearances.

So, she went.

Matteo had just woken up and looked pale and gaunt. Henrietta arrived with Winona, and after setting down a bouquet of flowers, she said, "Since you're okay, just focus on getting better."

She was about to leave when Matteo called out to her. With red-rimmed eyes, he launched into a speech. Henrietta slowly raised an eyebrow. After all that, was he... trying to get back together with her?

Pamela's eyes widened. "Wh-what do you mean?"

Henrietta looked at him in surprise as well. Yosef met her gaze. "My people found something."

Henrietta's eyes grew even wider. "This fast?"

Yosef nodded, then shifted his gaze to Artina. Artina froze, the color draining from her face. *He couldn't have found out,* she thought frantically. *It's impossible!*

"The assailant didn't have long to live," Yosef stated, his eyes locked on Artina. "And he was one of Ms. Harmon's obsessive fans. Conveniently, he was also working on the same set. My people found that you met with him privately the day before the wrap party, after shooting had finished for the day."
