When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 340

Sherry was immediately delighted. “Great! I'll call you on Saturday then.”

Henrietta replied, “Okay.”

It was only Tuesday, so Saturday was still a ways off.

As she put her phone away, she noticed Yosef didn't ask her about the call.

The car had arrived at her company, and Henrietta got out.

When she entered her office, she was surprised to find Joaquin there again.

Joaquin didn't come every day, but he showed up whenever he pleased, on a whim.

Sometimes he'd be gone for days, other times he'd show up several days in a row.

This time, however, he had missed the incident where Henrietta was attacked.

He was completely unaware.

Winona had already handled the matter, and the company staff were all keeping quiet.

Of course, Henrietta had no desire for Joaquin to know.

If he knew, he would surely pester her with questions and offer his sympathies.

She didn't want to get any more entangled with someone she already wanted nothing to do with.

But here he was, smoking in her office first thing in the morning.

As Henrietta walked in, she was greeted not only by an unwelcome face but also by the unpleasant smell of smoke.

Coupled with her lingering thoughts about Britney...

It made Henrietta extremely uncomfortable, like a thorn pricking at her from the inside.

She wasn't even sure if it was truly lodged in her heart or not.

However, Winona didn't say a word and simply took out her phone.

Joaquin stood up, marched over, and yanked the phone from Winona's hand. He held it tightly and looked at Henrietta. “Have you thought about what I told you last time?”

Henrietta frowned. “What?”

Joaquin said, “About why Mr. Nash will absolutely go easy on the Leland family. Have a private dinner with me, and I'll tell you. Have you considered having dinner with me?”

For some reason, Henrietta was furious. With a dark expression, she said, “I have no interest in knowing. And I certainly won't be having dinner with you. If you keep pestering me, I will absolutely report you for harassment.”

Her words only seemed to amuse Joaquin more.

He chuckled and sat back down. “What's the matter? Didn't ask Mr. Nash yourself? And… didn't ask Calvert why? Calvert knows, too.”

“But, of course… the moment you ask Calvert alone, given his loyalty, he'd tell Mr. Nash immediately. So… you don't dare to ask. You're scared.”

“Not only do you not dare to ask him yourself, you're even afraid to ask his subordinate. When it comes down to it, you're just scared, aren't you? What is it? Afraid of a falling out with Mr. Nash? Afraid of damaging your relationship?”
