Charlotte Tatum had taken the time to rest, and her script was practically polished to perfection.
Henrietta gave the green light: her new project would officially begin shooting in exactly one week.
That afternoon, Yosef arrived to pick Henrietta up as usual.
After they headed home and had dinner, a maid stepped forward and placed a thermos on the dining table. "Mr. Nash, the soup is ready."
Henrietta looked surprised.
So... he was actually okay with her delivering the soup?
But they hadn't brought any yesterday...
Besides, tonight was Aster's last night in the hospital.
He was scheduled to be discharged the very next morning.
Yosef just nodded.
Henrietta stared at him in confusion.
"Let's go. We're heading to the hospital," Yosef said.
Henrietta raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"
Yosef stood up. "Didn't he insist on drinking soup made by his beloved Henrietta? Let's see if he has the guts to drink what I had prepared for him."
The remark almost made Henrietta laugh out loud.
She was still a bit puzzled, but she stood up anyway. "Alright."
So, Yosef was employing a different kind of strategy?
He wasn't going to declare all-out war on the Leland family or impose any devastating sanctions on them.
He was simply going to step in personally to put an end to the brothers' relentless harassment?
Henrietta couldn't quite figure it out.
But that seemed to be the general idea.
So, she kept her questions to herself during the car ride.
Since Britney was untouchable, they would simply leave her be.
No matter how obnoxious Joaquin and Aster acted, it was just petty, childish nuisance.
Now that she knew the truth about the life debt, Joaquin's manipulative mind games were completely useless.
Calvert handed him the bowl, and he obediently began to drink.
When he finished, Yosef asked, "Well? Which batch is better—the one she had the kitchen make, or mine?"
Aster, of course, didn't dare say Henrietta's was better.
Instead, he deflected. "Since the kitchen made both, they taste exactly the same."
Yosef glared at him. "What's wrong? Losing your nerve?"
Yosef's sudden aggression startled Henrietta.
She had thought they were just here to deliver food, but he sounded like he was ready to settle a score.
Aster set the bowl aside and remained silent.
Yosef pressed on. "You've got some nerve. You know she's my wife, yet you have the audacity to hit on her. This isn't courtship. This is harassment. It's pathetic, obsessive stalking!"
"Is it illegal to pursue a married woman?" Aster shot back. "I'm not forcing her into anything. I just like her and want to win her over."
"What's the matter? Are you worried you're not charming enough to keep your own wife from walking away, Mr. Nash?"
Aster clearly had the foolish bravery of youth, mouthing off without any restraint.
