When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 46

Still, Jolie couldn't help but ask, “Then... what about Ms. Stetson?”

Winona replied, “I will be serving as Ms. Sargent’s assistant.”

Now everyone understood. They were just swapping roles for fun. Since Henrietta had revealed her identity and broken up with Matteo, she probably didn’t want to appear weak.

Who wants to see their ex thrive? If they do, it must mean there are lingering feelings. Henrietta was determined to crush Matteo not just with her family background, but professionally as well.

By taking the CEO position, was she planning to target Matteo? This was bad news. If Matteo lost the company's full support and resources, he would quickly fade into obscurity.

Tsk, tsk, how tragic. If that was the case, the film he was currently shooting was in jeopardy. Would they replace him? Or would they just halt production and pull funding?

The employees looked at Matteo with a mixture of pity and schadenfreude. Many of the other artists were secretly thinking that this might be the perfect opportunity to take his place.

Matteo’s hands clenched nervously.

Artina suddenly spoke up. “Hen—”

Before she could finish, Henrietta cut her off with a sharp look. “Address me as Ms. Sargent.”

Artina was momentarily silenced, but she didn’t change her phrasing and pressed on, “If I may be so bold, can the CEO of a company be changed so casually? Ms. Stetson has been running this company, making strategic decisions, while you were just an assistant. Are you sure you’re… capable of handling things?”

Artina delivered the sharp question with a look of pure innocence. Her face was naturally cute and guileless, making it seem like she was genuinely just asking a naive question.

Matteo’s heart hammered in his chest. His Henrietta had done so much for him?

Artina was also taken aback, but she quickly composed herself. For the Sargent family heiress, starting a company like this was probably like playing a game.

“I see,” Artina nodded, not daring to say more. What could she say? The company belonged to Henrietta. If she wanted to, she could dissolve it tomorrow.

Matteo blurted out, “Henrietta! This was all for me!”

Henrietta completely ignored him. Before he could continue his performance, Winona added, “So she was always the CEO; I was just filling in for her. And… all of the company's investments have been funded entirely by Ms. Sargent.”

This revelation made everyone gasp again. This was a huge deal; the investments were not small.
