“Don’t you worry, dear. I will find the absolute best and most suitable match for you!”

“Okay. Thank you, Mom.” A faint smile touched Henrietta’s lips.

Beaming, Sabrina said, “There are two families right now that I think would be a great fit.”

“I’m listening,” Henrietta replied, picking up her glass of honey water.

“First, there’s Joaquin Leland, the eldest son of the Leland family here in Juno City. And then there’s Yosef Nash, the eldest son of the Nash family. Perhaps we could arrange for you to meet both of them?”

Henrietta took a small sip. “The Nash family is on another level. And Yosef…”

Sabrina picked up the thread. “In terms of status, the Nash family is undoubtedly the top choice. Besides, you know how close I am with Yosef’s mother, Zelina Gilmore. Zelina would love to have you as a daughter-in-law. However…”

“Let’s arrange to meet the Lelands first,” Henrietta said.

Sabrina looked a little disappointed. “You really don’t like Yosef, do you?”

Henrietta’s brow furrowed slightly.

“Well, I suppose it’s for the best,” Sabrina sighed. “Yosef has a very detached personality, much like you. You two might not have much to talk about. And he’s quite a bit older, thirty-one this year. Plus, he was… well, he was engaged before. It wasn’t a good fit. The Leland heir is probably a better match for you.”

Henrietta nodded. “Mm.”

As she was about to leave, she paused. “Henrietta, are you sure you’re not upset?”

This sudden acceptance of an arranged marriage could either be a sign of clear-headedness or… a fit of pique.

Henrietta set down her glass and looked at her mother calmly. “Mom, I don’t pick up trash.”

Then she went to select her gown for the evening. A short while later, her two best friends, Winona and Charlotte Tatum, arrived. Both were dressed in simple yet elegant gowns, their makeup subtle and tasteful—perfectly complementing the guest of honor without overshadowing her.

As soon as she saw Henrietta, Winona beamed. “Congratulations!”

Charlotte chimed in with a smile. “Your dream is finally coming true! After the engagement, is it straight to wedding planning?”
