When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 92

Watching Yosef in his element, exuding that king-like command and absolute control, Henrietta felt a pang of envy. He was unbelievably charismatic at work—eloquent yet relentlessly assertive. He seemed to have a firm grip on his own life. He’d spent his childhood mastering various skills and his adulthood building an empire. Now, at a suitable age for marriage, he had accepted an arranged match and was proceeding with a calm, methodical approach. Even though his previous arrangement hadn't worked out, he had handled it with grace, exiting without any scandal. He hadn’t let it deter him, either, continuing to meet suitable candidates without a fuss and learning from his past experience.

This time, he’d even skipped the dating phase and gone straight to discussing marriage. His path was steady and deliberate, a testament to the clear and complete control he had over his destiny.

In contrast, she felt her own life was a bit of a mess.

Yosef ended his call and set his phone aside, turning his attention back to Henrietta. She snapped out of her thoughts.

He seemed to have made up his mind. "I don't object to you working," he said, picking up their conversation. "If it's something you love, you have my full support. If you get tired, you can stop. And if you ever need my help with your career, you only have to ask."

Henrietta was stunned and delighted. Three words popped into her head: the perfect husband.

"However," Yosef added, "I'm not familiar with the acting world, but some roles... seem less than seemly."

"They can be," Henrietta agreed. "But I have the power to choose."

From the moment she decided to act again, to make a name for herself and leave her own mark on the world, she had a plan. She was her own backer, so the usual rules of the industry didn't apply to her.

"Yes, I imagine you do," Yosef said. He raised his glass. "Then I look forward to your great success."

Henrietta blinked. He was actually flattering her.
