Joaquin, however, just chuckled. "Alright, alright, I'll stop joking with you."
"Don't use 'joking' as an excuse to disguise your disrespect," Henrietta shot back, her voice sharp. "It only makes me despise you more. Why did you go to the film set to find Matteo? To beat him up again? I'm warning you, if you keep pulling these stunts, I won’t bother being civil anymore."
Joaquin clicked his tongue. "Still so protective of him, are you? What, does your heart ache for him? I knew you two weren't over. In that case, Ms. Sargent, why bother going on blind dates?"
Henrietta took a deep breath. "Don't project your own ideas onto others. He is an artist under my management, and I have a responsibility to ensure his personal safety and protect him from harassment while he's working. And as I've said before, if you touch his face and he gets injured, you will pay for it. If you harass him, intimidate him, and disrupt the filming schedule, you will pay for all of it."
Joaquin let out a derisive laugh, his tone still mockingly affectionate. "I'll pay, I'll pay. It's not like I can't afford it. The real issue is your relationship with him… using 'boss and employee' as a cover story. How interesting."
"My business is none of your concern," Henrietta said coldly. "If you lay a hand on him again, I won't let it go."
In truth, she couldn't care less if Matteo got beaten up. But the constant delays to her filming schedule and her plans were infuriating. She had to intervene. Besides, Joaquin's actions were repulsive. If she didn't stop him, he would only become more arrogant, thinking he had her under his thumb.
"Relax, I'm not going to hit him this time," Joaquin said. "I just have a few questions for him. Why are you so nervous?"
"What do you want to ask him?" Henrietta demanded.
"You'll find out later. By the way, if you feel I've delayed your production, just send me the bill. I'll cover whatever it costs."
He sounded magnanimous, but Henrietta's temples were throbbing. This wasn't about money. His behavior was just utterly obnoxious!
Without another word, Joaquin added with a smirk, "See you later, my beautiful Ms. Sargent," and hung up.
