The moment I’m done calming Amira down and finally get her to stop crying, I’m fuming. Like actual steam coming out of my ears type of fuming. Elena. Elena Covenant. How evil and broken do you have to be to attack a child? A literal five-year- old child who has nothing to do with any of this? Who just wants to play with her friend? How can someone be so-

“Robin?”

I spot Slade’s beta about to step into the elevator. He stops, turns

“Why are you calling him?” Tiffany rushes up behind me.

“Yes-”

“How fast can you find out where someone is for me?” I cut straight to it.

Robin pushes his hair back, looking stressed like he’s got his own drama going on. “Who are you trying to find-”

“Elena Covenant!”

“No way you’re going to see her. We have to think-”

“Think?” I whip around to Tiffany. “Think about what? She called my baby a-‘

“Ladies.” Robin holds up his hands. “I’m really busy right now. Something crazy just happened-”

“Ladies?” I step closer. “I am the pack’s daughter and you are beta Your duty is to help me. That’s why you’re a beta. I need you to find out where she is at this exact moment.” I check my phone. “I give you ten minutes.”

I walk off before he can argue.

Tiffany follows me into my room. “You’re angry, I get it. But what can you even say to that wicked bitch? It’s not like you can hit her until she’s broken or something.”

“Maybe that’s what I have to do.” I’m pacing now. “I haven’t done anything to her-”

But the moment I say that, I remember. I’ve slept with Emris. Multiple times.

Does she know?

Elena is married to my mate. But I don’t hate her son. I look at Milo and never once think to do anything hurtful to that little boy. He’s innocent in all of this. And Emris told me they’re married but not living like married people. I know it’s wrong to keep sleeping with him. I know I’m part of the problem.

But saying that to my daughter? My baby who has nothing to do with any of this?

I swear I will poke Elena where it hurts. I will say anything until he’s as upset as I am.

“Seven more minutes.” I stare at my phone.

“Demetra!”

“Tiffany, I’m trying to think-”

did

“And I’m trying to know what you’re thinking!” She sits on my bed. “I’m coming with you, so are we slapping her like you to Derisha? Slade and I have been training, so I can do more than just clawing. I can give her a real smack down.” She pauses.

Chapter 50

“But we’ll have to get away fast in case Regan’s there. That dude i always around her like a bodyguard.”

I press my fingers to my lips, checking the time. Five more minutes.

Tiffany keeps going, listing all the ways she could possibly destroy Elena.

Two more minutes and there is a knock on the door.

I yank it open and Robin stands there with a piece of paper.

“Thank you-”

“If Slade finds out-”

“You don’t have to tell Slade. I won’t tell him either.” I take the paper. “Go back to whatever important thing you were doing.”

Robin shakes his head and disappears. Tiffany and I get into a car and I google the address on the paper while she drives us out of the pack house. Elena Covenant. Owner of Elysian Couture….a high-end fashion enterprise she started two years ago.

The search pulls up red carpet pictures of celebrities wearing he designs.

Tiffany drives like she’s in a race, weaving through traffic until we pull up to the building. The Elysian Couture logo hangs above the entrance in gold letters. Women in designer clothes walk in and out of the enterprise when I step out of the car.

My heart is pounding but my blood is boiling.

The lobby is wide with mannequins displays of gowns behind glass cases. I head straight to the reception desk.

The receptionist looks up with that customer service smile. “Welcome to Elysian Couture. Do you have an appointment?”

“I need to see Elena Covenant.”

Her smile tightens. “I’m sorry, ma’am, but the CEO doesn’t see anyone without an appointment. If you’d like to schedule-”

“Tell your CEO that Demetra Pride of the Lion Pride pack is in her establishment right now.”

The receptionist hesitates. Then picks up the phone.

I watch her murmur into it, eyes flicks to me then she hangs up.

“Someone will be right with you.”

Seconds later, I hear heels clicking fast against the tiles. A female assistant or…intern runs toward me.

“Miss Pride? Right this way. Ms. Covenant will see you now.” The Intern straightens her shirt nervously.

Out of the elevator, I see multiple staffs in uniforms.

“Welcome. Oh what a surprise, weren’t we just talking about her a
