Chapter 94
Alpha Emris.
“Oh, it’s angel!”
Milo runs off first while I’m carrying Amira in my arms.

Amira reaches her little hands toward her cold-hearted mother the second she sees her. It’s that instant pull children seem to have when they know exactly where they belong.
I watch Demetra catch Milo first. She hugs him with a very bright chuckle and holds his face in both palms, speaking to him for a moment before she closing the distance so she can see Amira closer. Her eyes never leave my daughter. Like she’s afraid the girl might vanish if she blinks.
“Mommy.”
“Amira.” Demetra looks at me first like I won’t give her Amira. I know exactly what she’s feeling because I’ve been carrying it since the first moment I knew the girl was mine.
The moment I hand Amira over, her lips close on Amira’s face. She practically kills the girl with kisses…forehead, nose, chin, both cheeks, forehead again. But I take that Amira loves kisses very much because she’s kissing her mother too. Little hands gripping Demetra’s neck as they dissolve into each other like they were never supposed to be apart.
“I’m so sorry I was not there.” Demetra whispers..
‘Daddy said you were sleeping after bonding!”
Demetra throws me a glare.
‘Are we living together now?” Milo jumps from where he is, bouncing like a subway surfer riding the rails.
‘Yes, I’ve told you yes a million times, Milo.” I answer.
What of…” Milo stops for a moment. His face scrunches. “My mommy.”
She does not live here anymore, but you can see her anytime you want.” I say, careful and blunt.
My boy takes out his finger and starts adding it up like that’ll make him understand. One. Two. Three. He’s counting omething and I put my hand on his head, resigned to the fact that he’s gonna figure it out later. I used sports cars to explain t earlier. I thought he understood already. Apparently not.
Angel is Daddy’s new sports car.” I say.
Excuse me?’ Demetra gives me daggers. Actual daggers. If looks could draw blood, I’d be on the floor.
Amira whispers in her ear. I don’t know what it is, but it must be what Ronin told her when she was asking where her mummy was. I guess she’s confirming if her mommy is my property now. Kids are sharper than anyone gives them credit for. They hear everything. They just wait for the right moment to prove it.
‘Yes.’ Demetra says it quietly. The way her smile fades tells me that’s basically it. Acceptance. Resignation. The slow death of whatever fight she thought she still had in her.
‘Come on, let’s go in. We have to show Amira her room.”
What of the doctors’ report?” Demetra asks as we start walking in together. Her shoulder brushes mine. I feel it all the way

down my spine. “Is it okay to have Milo around her right now?”

“Further tests were done and she’s been cleared. The whole team of doctors came in to double-check because she’s the first to get checked out so soon.” I glance down at Amira, nestled against her mother’s chest. “Milo and Amira are both to keep cating warm foods until this whole thing has passed. Plus no school. They’ll have to be homeschooled for the main while.”
At the end of my explanation, I tweak one of my fingers and it feels heavier. Reminding me that I’m living in the same house with her and wearing a ring that says bonded. With both of them. My children under my roof. My mate in my bed… eventually.
After Demetra fainted, I took her to the Luna chambers and watched how her body resigned to sleep. I really thought she would be awake in the next four or five hours. Instead, she slept long enough to tell me how exhausted she really was, which meant I had to go to the hospital without her.
I’m fucking in a hate-love relationship with Demetra, but I won’t lie…knowing we live together gives me the chills.
“Is that my granddaughter?”
My mom comes in with her arms open. I’m already ready to introduce them when Demetra-
“Get the hell away from her!”
“W-what?” Mom stares at me hazily. And the damn Zetas all around can hear. Every single wolf at the entrance just witnessed the new Luna tell the former Luna to back off.
“Emris,” my mother says sharply, turning the look on me instead. “You-”
I lift one hand, telling her without words to let it go.
Teddy is here. Silver is here. And I swear there’s one more person who is supposed to meet Amira that’s not here yet, but I can’t remember who.
“Hello, Amira. I’m your uncle, Silver.” He crouches down to her level.
“Hi.” Amira says softly, standing on her toes while she clings to Demetra’s leg.
Half-hidden. Half-curious.
“Hello, I’m your aunt Teddy, and I’m the youngest here which means we can do tea parties, makeup, and play house together unlike these boys. Teddy wiggles her fingers in a wave.
“Yay!” Amira hugs Teddy immediately, and the housekeepers all start a soft applause when they see that she’s chosen her favorite already.
I don’t miss the way Teddy looks ridiculously pleased with herself.
“I wanna come! I wanna come!” Milo inserts himself between the girls.
“Should we let Milo?”
Amira nods brightly and looks at me.
I can’t help but study her.
“I’ll take her to go see her bedroom.” Teddy says to Demetra.
