"Stalker?" Miles repeated.
Tristan sneered. "Don't you know she has a husband?"
"A husband?" Miles looked genuinely shocked.
Assuming Miles was completely in the dark about Sloane's marital status, Tristan pointed a thumb at his own chest.
"I'm her husband!"
At that exact moment, Sloane walked into her office.
She heard Tristan's absurd claim loud and clear.
"He is not my husband!"
Sloane marched over and snatched Tristan's bouquet off her desk.
Knowing she was about to toss it in the trash again, Tristan lunged to stop her. "Sloane, can you please not throw it away? Just keep it this one time, okay?"
"Move!"
"I'm begging you, just do me a solid," Tristan pleaded. "Besides, I really do love you."
The mere sight of him made Sloane sick.
Shoving him aside, she headed straight for the large trash can in the hallway.
Tristan lost his temper. "Sloane, are you really going to humiliate me like this? I've been chasing you for so long, can't you see I genuinely love you? I even broke up with all my other girls for you."
Unmoved, Sloane dumped the flowers into the trash.
Seeing her pull out her phone to take a picture for the staff group chat, Tristan lunged forward and snatched it from her hands.
"Sloane, you're really pushing me, aren't you?"
"Give it back!" Sloane ordered. "Or I'll use my bracelet to call the cops."
"I won't! Let the security bots drag me away for all I care. It's not like it's my first time at the police station!"
Tristan had completely resorted to playing the thug.
However, just as he was about to pocket her phone, Miles grabbed his wrist. With a sharp twist, Tristan yelped as his grip failed, dropping the device.
