Logan Lennox simply gave the woman a curt nod before leaning back in his seat to rest.
The woman didn't dare bother him further.
She merely muttered under her breath, "Why didn't Major Lennox take the private military transport?"
He looked like he was in a terrible mood.

Sloane and Zoe suffered through the entire journey.
They hadn't expected the trip to South Reef Island to be a grueling two-hour ordeal.
When the boat finally docked, the hull slammed heavily against the pier, and both women nearly lost their lunch.
They had to sit in their seats for a long moment to recover. Once the other passengers had disembarked, they finally stumbled off the boat, clinging to whatever railings they could find.
Once off the pier, the two found a spot to sit and catch their breath.
With solid ground beneath her feet, Sloane finally felt the nausea subside.
She took a proper look around the island.
It was surprisingly massive, practically the size of a small town.
The docks were lined with small storefronts, and she noticed several young men wearing military-issue clothing mingling about.
Zoe leaned heavily against Sloane, her voice weak. "Sloane, am I hallucinating? Weren't we supposed to be exiled to a deserted island? Why are there so many gorgeous soldiers walking around?"
Sloane's seasickness wasn't quite as severe as Zoe's. "You're not hallucinating. I'm seeing the exact same thing."
"Where are the transfer orders? Pull yours out and let me see."
Suppressing the lingering nausea, Sloane took out her paperwork. Her eyes instantly locked onto the key phrase: The Naval Hospital.
She frowned in confusion.
Did the county health department even have the authority to assign them to a military-affiliated hospital?
Then she recalled seeing a message in her college group chat a while back. A couple of her classmates had gone to support remote western clinics and were placed under military protection.
Plus, South Reef Island technically fell under the county's jurisdiction.
