Logan was suddenly entirely too enthusiastic. "I'll go take a quick shower. We can knock out the task right after."
Sloane stared at him, utterly baffled.
He was literally treating her like a ghost five minutes ago, and now he was fired up?
Was it really just because of the mandate task?
Fine, she told herself. We'll just treat it as a task!

Logan showered quickly and changed into a crisp dress shirt and tailored slacks.
He left the top two buttons undone, exposing his sharp collarbones and a glimpse of his chiseled chest.
His broad shoulders and narrow waist were perfectly framed by the shirt, making him look imposing and impossibly sharp.
The slacks sat perfectly at his hips, elongating his long, muscular legs.
Sloane couldn't help but swallow hard.
Her breath hitched in her throat.
"Why are you dressed up?" she asked.
He usually lounged around in sweats.
"Is it too formal?" Logan asked, adjusting his cuffs. "The task said we have to take a photo. I figured we should look good for the camera!"
Sloane nodded. "Then give me a second. I'm going to change too."
She hurried back to her room and opened the closet. The blue dress immediately caught her eye.
She slipped it on, twisted her freshly washed hair into a low bun, and pinned it with a matching blue clip.
When she walked back out, she saw the undeniable flash of awe in his eyes.
"You look stunning tonight."
"Thanks. You clean up nice yourself."
Logan looked around. "Where should we do the goodnight kiss?"
Sloane scanned the apartment.
It was small, so the options for a decent background were limited.
She pointed toward the glass doors. "How about the balcony?"
The balcony offered a gorgeous view of the city's glittering skyline.
"Perfect."
They stepped out into the night air.
Logan set up the Polaroid camera on a small table.
