Seeing it was a voice message from Luther, she smiled faintly and brought the phone to her ear to listen.
But whether out of nervousness or something else, the message played on speaker, echoing loudly in the silent car.
"Patricia, are you okay?"
"Can you send me a message when you get back to campus? I'm worried about you."
Patricia fumbled to stop the voice message.
Naomi stirred restlessly. Just as Patricia was about to comfort her, she saw a hand gently pull Naomi's shoulder.
Following the arm, she saw Naomi's head now resting on Lennon's shoulder. He had just pulled her closer, and now it looked as if Naomi was sleeping in his arms.
The scene was so striking—a handsome man and a beautiful woman—that Patricia's romantic heart started bubbling with excitement.
But before she could even wonder if something was going on between them, Lennon suddenly spoke.
"Don't bring Naomi around people like that again."
Patricia's brow furrowed.
She had a very good impression of Lennon, but hearing him say that made her feel a little uneasy.
If it had been anyone else, Patricia would have immediately questioned them, but this was Lennon. She didn't dare.
"Do you bosses also manage your employees' private lives after work? Isn't that a bit much?" she muttered.
Lennon glanced at Patricia.
"They’re not the flawless people you imagine them to be," he said flatly.
He wasn't a man of many words. If it weren't for the fact that Patricia was Naomi's good friend, and he was worried that her getting hurt might affect Naomi, he wouldn't have said anything at all.
