Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 73

Naomi had heard of this restaurant before. With its prime location and incredible ambiance, it was widely known as a top spot for couples on a date.

She couldn’t help but glance at Lennon.

He probably didn’t know about its reputation, right? Why else would he bring her here?

Her fingers curled nervously as she cleared her throat to get his attention.

Lennon stopped and turned to look at her. “What’s wrong?”

His direct gaze flustered her, turning her embarrassment into a mild panic.

“We’re… going to talk about work here?”

Lennon raised an eyebrow, a gesture that added a hint of roguish charm to his otherwise cold, handsome face.

Naomi wasn’t sure, but she thought she saw a flicker of amusement in his eyes.

Even if she had, she would have dismissed it as a hallucination.

Lennon, smile? And what was there to smile about anyway?

She lowered her head and quickly apologized. “Sorry, I wasn’t questioning you. I just think… this is too expensive.”

The tips of Naomi’s ears twitched with a mix of embarrassment and anxiety, turning a faint pink. Lennon’s gaze lingered on them for a moment, his own fingers twitching with the urge to reach out and touch them. He resisted, curling his hand into a fist in his pocket before turning away and speaking.

“Don’t worry about it.”

“The studio is generous.”

Naomi blinked, confused.

At first, she didn’t understand what he meant. But as they were shown to a private booth, it suddenly clicked.

“So, this is a business expense?”

Lennon smiled faintly when he saw she’d finally caught on. “It is.”

Naomi let out a soft “oh.”

Naomi nodded. “Of course, go ahead. There’s no password.”

Lennon gave a slight nod and took the laptop.

She watched as he placed it on the table. Even a simple act like turning on a computer looked graceful when he did it.

That, combined with his polite and considerate attitude, made Naomi feel deeply respected.

It was a wonderful feeling, and it helped ease her nervousness.

“Are the drafts in the software?”

“Yes, they should open automatically,” she replied.

Lennon quickly found the files.

“Your work is excellent, but there are a few issues here—”

As he started discussing the details, Naomi found it hard to see the screen from across the table, so she stood up.
